Did you run into any issues? I don't have an ac unit so I'm not sure how that will affect it. I have a '98 2.2L also
My AC work just fine it’s the hot air that doesn’t work I’m going to flush out the heater core next I just replaced the water pump and thermostat but I have been loosing coolant after every drive I check no leaks that are visible or coolant on the floor but I noticed at the rear under the tail pipe a good amount of water dripping out so I think it’s my head gasket. I was also thinking because I didn’t get the heat shield to block the hot engine air it did run a bit hotter than normal so It basically worked more like a short ram instead of cold air intake.

I like this intake myself as long as you change the filter they give you. To a K&N Filter or another quality filter.

@@twistedautogarage5418 I also have a 2000 Chevy S10 2.2L (not the Xtreme) which I owned for 8 years now, and I was looking into trying to add a bit more HP to it since it is struggling going uphill. I know it's a small engine which it serves a purpose of saving a bit of gas, compared to other engines, but if I can find ways to add a tiny bit of HP to it, that would be nice. I ran into your video just today and I found the tutorial very helpful. I am a DIY guy and have been keeping up with maintenance on my little S10. Hopefully, the CAI adds me a bit more power.
Also, a full AC kit replacement video is something I would want to see from you if you don't mind since my unit is starting to go bad.

Thank for the information, I tried installing a DNA motoring intake on my 2.2l s10 for $80 and it wasnt even close to fitting. Found out the a/c compressor wasnt taken into consideration. Just ordered this intake

Hell with the weight from the bracket you're defeating the purpose of a cold air intake if you don't separate the super heated air from the cool air out front

It's called the stock air intake hose assembly u must type "2.2 factory air intake hose assembly" otherwise your gonna get a diffrent. Thing

Theres only one way to find if its an original Chevy s10 extreme u can look up the vin Google it get the info it should tell u. Now The chevy s10 extreme came around 99-03 in v6 vortec engine automatic or 4 cilinder manual both single and extended cab. V6 came with 180 hp while the 4 banger 120hp. Nothing special ob the engine really now. The fun part these trucks offered the ZQ8 SUSPENSION 2 INCH DROPPED FROM FACTORY 2 INCH DROP SPINDLES SPRINGS SHOCKS. THEY ALSO UPGRADED THE SWAY BAR THICKER IN THE FRONT AND BACK. ALONG WITH A POSI TRACTION REAR END AND THE BODY KIT SIDE SKIRTS CAB AND BEF SKIRTS ALONG WITH THE FRONT CUSTOM BUMPER . MOST REGULAR S10 DONT HAVE THESE FEATURES U CAN LOOK UP YOIR GLOVE BOX IF U HAVE THE ZQ8 IN THE ID TAG THEN IT MIGHT BEE AN ORIGINAL ONE IF U JUST HAVE THE EXTREME DECAL THERES 2 THINGS 1. SOMBODY BOUGHT IT AND PUT IT IN THERE AND 2 LOOK AT THE FEATURES I JUST MENTION AND LOOK AT GOOGLE IMAGES ON HOW AN S10 EXTREME LOOKS.

If you want more room junk that factory cooling fan and shroud and do the concorde fan swap. I did it to my s10 and the fans are over kill for my 4.3. I'll be doing the same with my old 94 s10 after I v8 swap it.
That's a cheap ass "hot air intake" go get a real one from K&N engineering!
Take a look at the K&N. Almost identical but yeah.
