So glad to see everyone agree this is the greatest version ever!!! thank you Don Draper for hosting it. My dad had the CD growing up and we listened to this over and over again.
Went to see Bruce in Atlanta with my future wife. I was 16, she was 21. Our lives were changed forever, and we tried to prove it all night for the next 43 years.
me too .... different date each night (!!), 3rd and 4th BS concerts for me, started a long run of going to every night of his shows when they were in the Bay Area, NEVER EVER disappointed!!!! This show cost $8, if my memory serves me ....
Best version ever no way... Everybody perfect... This performance is really the best... Thk ESB we love u)....we are gratefull for your..prove every night!
I saw him a couple nights later in Portland!! Best show and tour of all since that show. Recorded this live via the radio broadcast. Bruce and the band were on fire for the Portland show…as always. Perhaps a bit more relaxed without the radio broadcast factor. Regardless a memorable show, like all Springsteen shows.
That's a great version but I take this over that one. Second best version I'd put Atlanta 10/30/78 probably. The '78 versions are the best (esp. as the tour went on).
at time of release of album from which this track stems id, for the last time left a not fruitful for me partnership nearly leading that fellow and i to wedded placement several times but we back out each time_ at that time i met in a bar a new yorker and via some amount of chatting about a mutual love of music fields he notified me about this albums upcoming release urging me to give it a spin before it sells out_ a week later i saw it for sale and was hooked to this song especially a few weeks in addition to candys room as that new yorker beseeched we spend the night at a hotel before returning to nyc and the music industry however i ducked out fearful of strangers and what it might bring.. now i regret not being with him as he came across dedicated to his loves e was upfront_
@@chrisdurso3325 After having listened to the 12/15 a lot in the years that I've had the boot, I'll be the first to admit it's good. Very good even. 9/19/78 Passaic good? 8/20/84 Meadowlands good? 10/23/99 LA good? I don't know. What I do know that as a long time fan and collector of boots, I really like 12/16 Winterland. I listened to the whole thing yesterday with headphones on, I like the mix, I like the fact that you can here Miami's vocals in it, it's a new show that I've never heard. That's good enough for me.
Been listening to this version for 43 years. Never gets old. That guitar sound AND melody!!! Just rips through you.
The 12/14/78 3 album bootleg is one of my most prized possessions.
I was 21… insanely “in love” w Bruce… Winterland wasn’t even crowded. Was there w my bro🔥❤️ heaven
I was there. 17 years old. Unforgettable. 9 pm until 1 am. Thanks to my pal Tom Beach for turning me on to Bruce.
Lucy man.
U have seen God then.
I was at this show. This song DESTROYED the place. A show stopper for the ages!
Definitely the best live version IMHO!

I was there for both nights at Winterland. Epic.

I was there, too. I remember him doing like six encores. And this song was a mesmerizing show stopper.
I'm a simple person
I see a Springsteen 78 Prove It All Night, I like
Greatest concert performance ever, this wipes the floor with Queen 85' at Live aid. And anything else you might want to put up against it.
One of the true top 10 greatest artist of all time
Just to have been there and experienced this live.
To think i was 6 months old this night amazes me..45 years later
Agree…..the Best version ever of this song….Roy’s into was on fire

Senior class Ski trip to Bardonecchia, Italy. Brindisi HS spring 1983. I miss everyone. I’ve been trying to prove it all night almost 37 years later
Authentique, généreux et sincère. Merci Bruce.
One the best version
Encore une fois un titre exceptionnel, merci pour le partage et merci BRUCE !!!!!!!

Roy Brittan is a piano master - where is the live for him ? He’s amazing and still is.
I have found my people.
Danny on Glockenspiel and The Big Man on Triangle!
In my opinion the Greatest ever live version is on 08/20/1981, followed by this version. Both definately great! :)
hey where was the 8/20/1981 version you speak of, played at? What venue? Gotta copy you can share???

Shame on you if you haven’t listened
Thanks! Can you upload the version from the 12/16/1978 show too? I'd like to compare them.
Listening to that one right now, it's pretty dang good!
The 12/15 show blows away the 12/16 show. But that's just my opinion.

@@ekimp252 Have you heard the news? There's good rockin' tonight ....
The greatest live recording ever made. Trade in your 1975-85 box set for this immediately. Trapped and War notwithstanding, that one's for amateurs.
Trapped isn‘t on Live 75-85
Oooooooh ya
9/19/1978 performance is better.
