Cawki is developing a love-hate relationship with me. He flies in, eats the food I give him and then starts to bite whatever he can get his beak on!
Cawki did have a troubled past so I bear with him when he has his little outbursts. As shown in the video, he willingly flies inside through my window and wants to interact, I never force anything on him.
He is a silly little bird and I just try to keep him happy to the best of my ability when he decides to visit ^-^

Jackdaws Crave Human eye contact and eye contact with their mate, they will look you right in the eye as it is part of how they communicate so when you keep looking away they don't like it they will think it is rejection.they also love to play and will bring presents.I have one in my garden that I nursed back to health after turning up weak,starving and hardly able to fly during lockdown.it eats out of my hand and comes everyday.when storms move in it shelters in my garden out of the weather over night.I always look it in the eye and it looks right at me and we chatter to each other and I can call it for breakfast too.

This is awesome. I love corvids. (Crows, ravens, magpies, jays, and jackdaws) They are quite intelligent, and can be as good of a companion as a parrot. Also, nice job with 162 likes and 0 dislikes.
I Love them also. At work (I work for a hotel) there is a jackdaw coming every single day to visit the back of the house. We are saving bags of nuts without salt out of our hotel rooms minibars which has a date that is expired. That's what we feed him. He is so intelligent! Recognising people, knowing where to go and where not to go. I Love them.

Im fangirling so hard at Cawki's wing fluttering, I had a wild northern Cardinal that I raised from a chick and he fluttered his wings all the time when he was hungry or near me XD
There's a jackdaw down my street called Alan. The kids love him and he hangs around the chippy. He walked home with me on my shoulder after I'd been to the offy.

My Jackdaw does the exact same. He come son my shoulder but I'm scared to look at him up there because he will go for my eyes and has caught me twice! But they are worth the trouble, great birds and they never forget a face or kindness!

Hi i have a jackdaw called ben hes very cute but he is also rlly shy we found him outside of are window and he coulden't fly so we took him in with iur dove she evil and now my dove keep on pecking him i would sometimes hop onto my hand for lets say 1-2 mins but i love him..

Aw he’s so cute!!! Where did you get him?! He reminds me of my little grackle who just left me to migrate. He reminds me so much of this guy! I found my guy “fledge” 50 feet down from his nest with a broken leg and no feathers. But he turned into a beautiful grackle with irredentist blue head and purple wings. I miss him so much.

I am jealous of your shoulder crow.
I feed a number of birds, of which around 6 jackdaws in particular visit more or less daily, but all of them are still cautious of me even after months of feeding. They'll perch nearby and call their friends when they notice me putting out food, but they'll refuse to come down until I start to walk away. The pigeons and starlings by comparison will often take their chances before I finish and walk away.
I'm not sure if it's the birds themselves, the way I carry myself, or the way people in this area treat birds. Maybe a combination of all three. Two of them look neat, though. One has white wing-tips, and the other has a weird ruffled look to his chest feathers (or her? Not sure). The ruffled one in particular lives in the roof of a house a few doors down.
But yeah, on the note of the pecking, crows are defo dicks. One visitor to my yard destroyed an old (exposed) bird feeder we had purely for fun. Pulled it off of the bar it was hanging from and watched it smash into the ground. Skipped down the neighbor's sheds full of pride afterward, didn't even go down for any of the seed. The ruffled will sometimes peck at a pigeon and pull a feather or two when they're eating, too. One time he got a whole clump and just sat there for a few seconds before dropping them.

I think you're you're right yes, Jackdaws have a "pecking order" as in, their social hierarchy dictates who pecks who and who is allowed to peck who back... They won't risk incurring the wrath of the flock, so all accept their place..
I think he may be a she; and a single she, not in a relationship, because they're normally the lowest ranking, and she'd get a massive buzz out of pecking you, I'd bet.
Also, interestingly, Jackdaws can be actively gay. Which is a little bit lovely.
They're a very well studied Corvid, and bird in general.
