That jump key is GOLD!! I haven't used my old electronic dictionary in a while, but I remember shouting at the top of my lungs when I found out it would actually tell you the reading of kanji when you highlighted them!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I bought my 'denshijisho' around eight years ago and it practically still identical to the one in the video. Still works perfectly too. Completely forgot how to use it, so videos like this are worth their (metaphysical) weight in gold. :)
I found one interesting thing. Actually it has built-in 2000 classic Japan literature (日本文学2000作品) and 1000 world classic literature (世界文学1000作品). It would be very nice if device allows you to search through the literature because this is a whole corpus of language and you can see usage of words.
But it does, my friend, it does! That Exactly is its power! I put any text as txt. file on my SD card and feed my (heavily customized) Casio XD-D10000 with the card. Is there a way to comvert the entire dictionary from Japanese - > English to English - > Japanese? I just bought the Ex-word Dataplus 6 XD-D8500 model and am still trying to figure it out. :)
Ok, so I have a dataplus 6, and when I hit "jump" and select a character it brings me to a page all in japanese. I see your's is going to a page that is partly in English...can anyone explain what I am doing wrong?

Does your's dictionary has a 3 options to choose from when hitting "jump"? They are: 前回(last used), 選択(choose), ミニ辞書(mini dictionary) (11:04). You should choose second option then choose a dictionary you need. At the next time choose 前回 and you will go to the dictionary you had chosen.
How to change the language to English language hahahah because my grandma gave to me ex word dataplus7 and I want to change the language into English can anyone please help me
There´s a little hole on the bottom where you can fit in a needle. It should be a "resetto" (リーセット) engraved. Press it for a while like 5 seconds or so and then you should have a hard-reset. This is true for A, B and D series 100% and also probably with some later models but that is raw speculation.
Hello, im trying to figure out how to erase an item from the list of favorite dictionnaries, or to factory reset an ex word (i see a reset button under the machine but whe' i press it it just turns on and off, not factory restting anything.)

Personally I haven't bothered to study stroke order theres a couple of basic rules and 99% of kanji follow them once you figure out the pattern stroke order is kind of obvious and even when you get it wrong the e-dictionary will still pick it up :)
rm2kdev i've done it! Took me months to figure how to do it! It's a real pain in the *ss if you need help just tell me. Plus when you install additional content, it dosn't show up in the jump function, making it not so easy to access as well.
Pier It’s to input kanji with the stylus and it also serves as digital buttons. More recent models have removed it - you can write directly on the main screen, which is a touch screen.
There are also three other functions, I can think of: 1. You can preview your Notes from the Notes sections ( I actually really do use this function - I love it) 2. You can define a dictionary of your choice as "minidictionary". When reading texts and you are too lazy or encumbered (Japanese subways) to do the full jump, you can do a "semi-jump" by just tapping jump - a short definition of the word you wanted to look up will appear on the mini-screen. The short definition will be extracted from the "Minidictionary". 3. You use the mini screen for putting color notes into your Ebooks, a good way of navigating through the rather simple Ebook function in comaparison to dedicated ebook readrers, however I found it served its purpose well enough to read the entire collection of Boutrienne on The life and time of Bonaparte on my Casio. You set a color marker in your Ebook and can jump back to that specific part of the text at any given time. In case of Bourrienne however it proved to be not enough markers by far (TT). It will work perfectly with smaller volume books, I guess. You have only four markers in total. Cheers*
