I've played drums and guitar since about 10 years old. Now I'm 44, and been dealing with self-diagnosed CTS for several years now. At first it kept me from playing the drums. Now it's affecting my guitar playing as well. I really need to do something. It's both hands.

How do you tape it? I can't sleep with a brace and it hurts when I play guitar. Please help!

I tell the patients to place the thumb to the little finger and that opens the carpal tunnel "hole" where the nerve goes through. Then wrap with the electrical tape across the carpal bones where the skin folds on the front of your wrist. I think I made another video on specifically how to do it. Look for it on my youtube.

Does it depend on what chiropractor is treating you and their techniques or does it boil down to person to person how the body reacts to the treatment itself?

I think the doctor just has to find out what's wrong with the patient and use methods that would remedy those problems. If there's a muscle problem, use various methods to make the muscle better. If there's a misalignment, there are various "adjusting" techniques and I personally don't think one is greater than the other as long as the alignment changes and the patient improves. Hopefully that answers your question. If not, let me know

Adam J. Story, DC The thing is i myself have carpal tunnel i've had it for a while now and it started from my wrists/arms and now gotten worse that my shoulders and neck are also hurting that their giving me headaches. I've been at a chiropractor once for some visits and i didn't improve that much. I wonder if i should try other chiropractors or move on to acupuncture? Because i really don't want surgery!!

Try another chiropractor. Also, why not try chiropractic and acupuncture at the same time? There's no law that says you can't do that. Put everything in your favor to heal. Regardless of whether you do acupuncture, chiropractic etc...it takes more than "some visits." Even if you have surgery: 6-12 weeks recovery then PT.
