  • Join us for the kickoff of the PABC Cancer Support Ministry on June 30th, 2024, at 10:45 AM at the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church. The PABC Cancer Support Ministry was founded to provide crucial support to individuals facing cancer, their caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about cancer. Inspired by the journey of Kaye Molley, a breast cancer survivor, and with the support of the American Cancer Society and Mary Brown at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, this ministry has been a beacon of hope and community since its first meeting on February 14, 2009.
Our ministry aims to create a supportive environment where individuals can share their experiences, learn coping methods, and build relationships that help combat the isolation often felt during cancer treatment. We participate in various local health events sponsored by organizations such as Susan G. Komen, the American Cancer Society, Lombardi Cancer Center, Raw Beauty, Casting for Recovery, and the Red Hat organization of Baltimore.
October is designated as Cancer Enrichment Month, during which we provide our congregation with information on different types of cancer and celebrate the strength and resilience of all survivors.
We invite you to join us in this supportive community, whether you are a cancer survivor, a caregiver, or simply someone looking to support those affected by cancer. Your presence and participation can make a significant difference. Let's come together to support each other, learn, and celebrate life.
