Bill Bixby was absolutey superb in this episode. Showing his dark side and intense emotions when trying to conduct an experiment on himself that went horribly wrong that brought out the dark personality and the savage hulk that was capable of hurting or killing people. Thank God he found the antidote to reverse it before it was too late. Bravo, bravo Mr. Bill Bixby, we miss you👏👏👏

This series was well before its time. I think the audience totally felts empathy for Bill's character all throughout this great series. I was 13 when this episode was released. Good times back then..
This episode like all the others solidified Bill's reputation as a solid all-around professional actor! The difference Bill showed between normal David and the Dark side David is always a phenomenal viewing pleasure! And Lou performed the same feat as the Hulk in this episode. The Incredible Hulk for years has been a TV show that has gone beyond the boundaries of your normal tv show,the acting,the stories and the music all has made the Hulk the best TV show that has ever hit anybody's television set!

The actor that played the girl's dad was in another episode in the first season called The Antwok Horror. He was trying to get the town he was living in some attention by playing a phony big foot monster.

The part of this episode that really freaked me out was when the Hulk attacked that butcher. You could tell he would’ve ripped him to shreds and that made the Hulk that much scarier when I first saw this as a kid.
Season 4 had some interesting episodes. Not all we're great, but this one hit the mark. It's too bad CBS didn't let Season 5 play out. We may have seen the conclusion of the Banner / McGee storyline if it had.

That's the whole point of his character. He wasn't a confrontational man. He had to do everything he could to keep calm. That's one of the things that made the character and the show interesting. The struggles with controlling his inner beast.
My personal opinion- I thought this episode was one of the worse. I’m sure they could have done better than sticking him in a hick family while he’s experimenting in a 1950’s rancher house playing with his chemistry set. The show started going downhill after season 3.

Bill Bixby was such a classy and brilliant actor, bringing in a naunced performance to his portrayal of David Banner.
He could play a loving Dad, a brilliant doctor, a conniving jerk or a flat out psycho like he did in Ride Beyond Vengeance
