I quit in September a management position Is had for 3 years. This past year between being overworked and burnt out. It was a super hard decision, but turned out for bigger and better opportunities.I just kinda got stuck thinking I was happy when I wasn’t.
I got a job at a store and became an assistant manager, and everything was great until covid hit. The work environment became very toxic and stressful. I wish I had quit, but I continued to put up with it. Eventually they fired me saying they were overstaffed due to covid. So, I did end up leaving the job overall, but I wish I did it sooner. Exactly we’re a slave to this system. It’s not a life anyone wants to live. Yes you can tell me we have a lot of things to be grateful for and that we at least have the chance to go to work unlike others but that’s not the point. The point is I’m not happy where I’m at in life and I wanna make a difference to get where I want to be. You can’t keep bringing these things you’re supposed to be grateful for up over and over just to cover up the fact that you’re actually not happy with your current status in life.
First of all your not a slave to the “system.” There’s a balance in life for a reason. I get that it’s boring bc maybe you haven’t found love yet or maybe you don’t like yourself and use ur pathetic emotions to blame something.
Yep! I was one of the 4 million that quit in October and now I make more money than I ever have my entire life and more importantly- I’m happier. Good luck to everyone who had to make that hard decision.

I ended up leaving my job recently since there was heavy OSHA violations and verbal abuse towards non-family in the work place for minimum wage only. Ended up getting a new job literally a week later with higher pay, a cleaner environment, nicer people, and massive scholarship potential with room to easily advance. Quitting is good if you know what to do next and have an idea for a job opportunity, even if it's an Etsy or something! Wish these folks the best! 😊
This is because of what Society has become everybody expects you to drop something for them but yet the person you're helping expects the same so how can we ever make a difference if everybody expects a lot from each other I am a minimum-wage worker and I am tired of the way the public treats me when I'm already breaking my back working

I've called and quit a job, AND I've even quit a job I person as well... here's the twist...I didn't have to film myself and post it on social media to make myself feel like people care, because no one cares. Wow, you want to spend time with your family...so does everyone else in the world. This is so corny.
I quit my job because it wasn’t making me happy and I wanted to spend more time with my boyfriend and family instead of being at a job 24/7 plus the pay
If you savings and make it without your current job yeah maybe you should leave the stress behind and do what you feel your called to do. I think we need to rethink the 40 hour working week and have more life balance. And pay definitely need to be up to deal with inflation.
THIS! More advanced countries have tried 32h a week and it has lead to increased productivity, happier employees, and more revenue for the companies. People in the US work 40 hours a week, almost zero benefits, 14 days paid vacation (which is horrendous) , poor wages, and CEOs getting richer and richer
I recently quit a job of 7 years. I was over worked underpaid I hated it I was scared at first and thought I would regret it but no I got a job that following week. I Have more time to be with my kids and my stress level went down. God is good. Do not be afraid to jump.
This is the reason pay for new hires keeps going up my job went from no opportunity literally a year ago to a 55% raise, and hope for the future. This is what's driving inflation and why I don't mind inflation being higher than in the past. If these jobs have people quiting and they can't find people they have to raise their pay winch is higher inflation, but not necessarily a bad thing overall for our society. The less borderline slavery the better in the long run.
You realize your 55% increase means nothing compared to 80% fuel prices, right? You got a raise and you're happy for inflation so you can basically be where you were already at?
it's either because of the crappy wage and management or because customers can't take into consideration that these employees have feelings.

I was stuck there for over a year miserable and underpaid. Because I left so abruptly, it caused me a few grand of debt since all my bills went to my credit card for a while, but despite that, I still feel way healthier since I'm out of that environment.

Some people ‘Quit-toking’ without a back up plan and they literally have no savings in their checking account plus their savings account is non existent. It’s all fun and games till you’re seeking a job or figuring out how to start your own business when you realize your utilities, car insurance, car note, kid’s school fees, mortgage or rent has been past due for 3 weeks and now you’re dodging bill collectors while applying for government assistance and the closest appointment time is 2 months for now to see if you qualify for any assistance. Then one of your kids or pet gets sick and you don’t have health insurance so urgent care clinic or emergency room visit will be a nightmare once the bill arrives. But do you boo boo, do you! Exactly we’re a slave to this system. It’s not a life anyone wants to live. The point is I’m not happy where I’m at in life and I wanna make a difference to get where I want to be. You can’t keep bringing these things you’re supposed to be grateful for up over and over just to cover up the fact that you’re actually not happy with your current status in life.
Well said, that's how I see it too.
First of all your not a slave to the “system.” There’s a balance in life for a reason. I get that it’s boring bc maybe you haven’t found love yet or maybe you don’t like yourself and use ur pathetic emotions to blame something.

THIS! More advanced countries have tried 32h a week and it has lead to increased productivity, happier employees, and more revenue for the companies. People in the US work 40 hours a week, almost zero benefits, 14 days paid vacation (which is horrendous) , poor wages, and CEOs getting richer and richer

If these jobs have people quiting and they can't find people they have to raise their pay winch is higher inflation, but not necessarily a bad thing overall for our society. The less borderline slavery the better in the long run.
