It is the first time that the auto translate app manage to translate so well and so accurately what you've wrote from Japanese in Greek language!
I totally agree with you. It is a big deal to be able to see how the dialogues were translated and performed in different languages. But my favorite one is the Japanese original with the unsurpassed performance of Takuya Kimura. I love to listen to his voice and it is a pity that he is not more fluent in English in order to enjoy him in more English speaking roles. He is a great actor.

For everyone who confused why there are some different translations in this video (not all translations use "that's my girl" like the english one):
Actually the japanese line (which is the original line) is "ii ko da", which means "good girl/boy". That's why not all the dubs use the "that's my girl" line. Maybe the english dub didn't use the literal translation to make it sounds more romantic and beautiful (still it has similar contextual meaning with the original japanese line)
「いい子だ」は日本では親しい人にしか使わない言葉だから
“my girl”の訳で合ってると思う
@@pocari9Q このシーンのハウルはミステリアスでセクシーな男性という登場の表現として「いいこだ」と言ってるように思うのでやはりgood girlくらいが良いと思うんですが、登場から既にソフィーとの関係性を見せてるという解釈であればThat's my girlかもしれないですね。
It’s so annoying like don’t these people know how translation works? They obviously won’t translate word for word because then it doesn’t sound natural and your language likely isn’t the only one who does that
@@yesplatinum7956 that's normal, and you shouldn't bother too much
also probably to match the lip synching even more
other languages: "that's my girl"
mandarin: "i'm leaving"💀
Nah... I think he almost only said "thats my girl" in english :D In all the other languages that i could understand, he said something else...
saw comments from different language speakers here, translation are not the same in their own languages
"Bye biatch"
english:''thats my girl''
arabic:''good job''💀
Technically in japanese he said “good girl” so can we say it’s a mix of the two ? 😂
3:35 the japanese one ❤
In French he said “you’re courageous” instead of that’s my girl and it was super cute

The canto sounded more like: that's a good girl😂
2:15 In French, he says "Vous êtes courageuse." which means "You are brave." I kinda love it, it's polite

I'm shocked that he says "my girl" in English because in the Russian version he only said it was like "that's good."😢 But I still love with all my heart Howl's Russian voice acting, his voice is so fabulous and gentle!
Ah, the Russian one is close in meaning to the Dutch one!
He basically says "that's good" in Japanese too. It's casual so I guess the English team wanted to convey that and keep to his playboy status. It's been so long since I've watched it in anything other than English so it caught me off guard.
ソフィの声はどこもいいな
In spanish form Spain he said "see you later" What a freaking lost, why they did that 💀😭😭😭 The original japanese version is "good girl"
So heres the translation (based on comments)
Turkish: good job
Spanish: see you soon
German: you can do it
Arabic: good job
Chinese: I'm leaving now
Indian: I'll be right back
French: you're brave
Persian: you're a good girl
Bulgarian: thats what I like
Albanian: you're so good Sophie
Danish: good girl
Portuguese: good girl
Malaysian: just like that
Indonesian: clever girl
Italian: good little girl
Russian: thats good
Czech: I'm on it
Norwegian: then we'll see each other soon
Swedish: good girl
Vietnamese: good girl
Polish : good girl (but litterally : brave girl)
*what makes it interesting too is that he used the scout slang for "brave"
Also, you're welcome 👍
Brazilian Portuguese: good girl;
Portuguese: That's the way.
Latin Spanish: That's my girl
Greek: well done little one
and in Thai it's "very good, good child".
And what we understood from the comments: in many versions it doesnt even specifically say “thats my girl” at all
original (japonese): good girl
Latin spanish: thats my girl
Spain: see you later (completely disappointing)
In Portuguese Brazillian he says: Good Girl 🗣🗣🗣🙏🙏🙏
In greek he said: "Well done, small." (?!)
In finnish he said: "Good girl."
So they could not emphasize the fact that goodness is obedience to a man... they just hint it is sexual! 🙄
どの国でもソフィの声は似ている
可愛らしい☺️
ハウルってこんなに外国語の吹き替えの展開あったんか
I’m dying the italian one says “good baby(girl)”
Lord... 😨
English: That's my girl
Arabic: Good job
Agreed Arabic version voice is so good.👍✨🤩😍
English „that‘s my girl“
German: „you can do it“ 😭
5:48 Turkish was so classy
あぁ〜アラビア、インド、イタリア、トルコ、ロシアいい声。日本は母国語だからかキュンとするわ〜
In Russian it was "There you go", which is a very good rendition of "that's my girl". I don't know what the Japanese version says exactly but this phrase is like he is praising a child for being obedient
In Japanese, if I'm not mistaken「 良い子だ 」 ("ii ko da") means "Good girl/boy". And it's also used to praise a child, but it can be used toward adults, animals, etc. depending on context.
@@Lymairozthank you for your explanation. That phrase in Russian can be used in a conversation with adults and animals too but with a somewhat patronising undertone
@@angrysadmillennial Oh, I feel like it could also be used patronizingly in Japanese. In fact, I feel like in this case, Howl meant it half teasingly and half wholeheartedly praising Sophie.
翻訳の差異について誤訳だとコメントしてる海外の人いるけど、これ各国の感覚に当てはめた、日本人にとっての「いい子だ」に1番近いワードを選択してるんだと思うけどな👀 「いい子だ」ってなんか...。ときめくし...。いろんな国のときめきワードが知れて楽しい
多分その国の文化も含めた一番感覚が近いワードなんでしょうね。英語で直訳だと”good girl”とすべきところを”That’s my girl”としている。けどもしこれを逆に日本語で「さすが俺の女」にしてしまったら違和感がすごいですからね。
「『good girl』だと犬扱いしてるみたい」っていうコメントもあるし、そうなんでしょうね
アメリカだと「good girl(boy)」は犬に使う言葉で、自分の子どもを褒めるときは「That's my girl(boy)」を使うらしいですから
でも、「もう行くね、」とか、あまりにも範囲が広すぎて「いい子だ」の雰囲気が伝わらない訳の邦もあるようだけれど?

He say : vous êtes courageuse .
In french 🇫🇷😉
in russian Howl says "that's nice", what is more correct and close to the original meaning in japanese
He says "iiko da"
"ii"=good
"ko"=girl or boy
"iiko" means...good girl
it's more sexy sound than just "that's nice". I think 🥺♡
Хоть где-то не накосячили мы в переводе:)
In french :
"Don't move, I will lead them away from here. Once the danger is gone, you can come back down.
- Okay !
- You're brave."
In korean it was literally "You listen well to commands"😂
I wouldn’t really translate that to “commands,” I would just translate as “you listen well” but more or less yeah haha

3:03 ハンガリー語は物語前半の伊達男な感じのハウルと合っててすごくいい
"aferin sana" in turkish means "good girl/boy , you do/did well" : often said to children. You never gonna say it to an adult because it is a very adorable/affective way to expressing yourself and praise someone, a little bit "childish" (in a good way)

The OG (japanese ver) line is 「いい子だ」(iikoda) which literally means “good child” but in this situation it means “good girl” . So y’all don’t worry if ur ver didn’t mean “that’s my girl” and it instead means “good girl”.
5:50 Turkish version was "Aferin sana"( means "Good for you","Bravo"). They don't always translate everything correct, but in some movies they even make the phrases more Turkish. They are so creative. I love how Turkish voice acting industry finds the best cast to voice the characters Ghibli, Disney or Nickoledeon, doesn't matter. They really rock.
In Russian he said something like "wonderful". He could say "good girl", like he did in Japanese, but it wouldn't be long enough for a lip-sync.
I have the impression that in practically all languages, Howl's voice acting is excellent
3:24 In italian he actually says “good girl” instead! I’ve always found it really charming as well tbh
its the same in japanese it's originally "Good girl" I think the english put their own twist on it xD
ハウルの「良い子だ」の英訳が”that’s my girl“なのが微妙っていう意見もあるけれど、個人的にすごく素敵な訳だなと思った。まさに女心をくすぐる一言と言った感じ…!
English version is top tier tbh why didn't they translate as that's my girl to other languages too?? That's the biggest part of swooning over him
Yeah for mine it just said your a good girl.
@@Azsx282 yours is okay mine just said "well done"💀💀
latin spanish does say "that's my girl", "esa es mi chica" c:

cause in some languages it's weird and cringe to say "that's my girl"... in my, for example, it's something you say to your dog, but not a lover. and also it's takes a while to even SAY "that's my girl".. kinda funny
In french, he says "you are brave" or "you're a brave one" (it's a mix of the two translations)
I love his voice in French, I think it's much more suited to him than those where he sounds like he should be in an action movie.

Dang, he's vouvoying her in French, so polite and distinguished. Unlike in Polish, where he used the casual scout slang for "brave". Both equally charming though 😳✨️🌟
Interesting how different the translations are. In English and Latin Spanish he says "That's my girl", in the original Japanese as well as Brazilian Portuguese and I think Italian too he says "Good girl", in French he says "You are brave", in German "You've got this" and in European Spanish he just goes "See you!" 😂
