With foreign money you can!!
@@luv4balletlol lol ya int lie at all😂😂😂
As another fellow Bajan.. Living here... I agree 😂
@@luv4ballettha pound aint strong enough anymore.
Barbados can be done on a budget if you’re prepared to live like a local. It would take some planning and speaking to locals to avoid tourist traps and being overcharged for beer (sorry you paid £2.50 for a single Banks!) but it can definitely be done! It just depends on the kind of experience a person is looking for; more luxury = more money, as with most places.
You gtta be living like a local with international pay cuase d $8.50/hr ppl want to pay youll be on d strrets soon
I completely agree. Been here for almost 3 months and I’ve found that if you’re trying to buy the foods and brands i might back in Canada, or am trying to eat at fancy restaurants all the time, it can get pricey. But adapting to local lifestyle, it’s much more affordable than back home
befriend a local I mean a genuine friend and you can live well on a budget nut with that accent establishments will try to take advantage no way u pay £2.50 for 1 beer
Living locally is the way to go.
I grew up in Barbados as a Yankee and now I live completely and comfortably as a local.
I live here and i cant do it on a budget cackleeeee... Barbados is my home regardless ❤❤❤❤
I'd love to live there, I've been there twice between 2014-2016 and I'm coming back in February!
Im in Barbados right now on a budget, it definitely helps having family here. Ive gotten food, drinks, an apartment , and a car all for free. All i have to do is do the same while my family travels to the US. You can't pay me to take a ZR over here though
100% as a Yankee who grew up in BIM(right to college), having a private home here makes costs SO much more cheaper. With my parents giving me duo citizenship, I can easily work/shop/schooling overseas so I can make living in BIM more affordable and comfortable.
Barbados. My home 😍😍😍
Same
me three!
Same
All of you live in Barbados!!!!
Samee
I went to Barbados twice during 2014-2016 and it was so much cheaper than it is now! You could enjoy a 4 star holiday for 2.5K for 10 nights for the entire holiday! Now it's more expensive than the Maldives!!!!!!!
Barbados 246🇧🇧💗
Absolutely loved Barbados when I was there!! 🇧🇧🇧🇧
I’m on holiday there right now!
Barbados, really, really worth it... come, billionaire or thousandaire, the reggae/calypso bus waitinggggg🎉😊

Irish bloke here. I lived and worked here for a few months and no, it's very hard to live cheaply. I had the perks of being given free accommodation and transport (while working) but me and my household divided the groceries each time we went. Every few weeks we would spend a few hundred, if not 1200 dollars per shop. I also remember getting a takeaway from a local vendor one night and it cost me almost 50 dollars
Go to the local markets, and buy groceries there. They might be surprised to see pale skin and some might be rude, but keep going back. That's what we did. You'll save tons.
I wish to go therefor a week and just sit on a beach and watch beautiful ocean, that would be the best vacation and relax.😊❤
A bit exoensive but not billionaire or even millionaire expensive. You can definitely do Barbafos on a budget. It's really nice you will enjoy yourself immensely@
PS A Banks beer is cheaper than £2.50 it's cost to £1
Can you try Ireland for a mr whippy for 99p
For anyone wondering, NO you *cannot* visit Barbados on a budget. You will have a *horrible* time. If you're used to having frosted flakes for breakfast, expect to pay DOUBLE for a box. The price of everything is either DOUBLE or HALF of what you're used to. The imported stuff that you're used to will be VERY expensive. If you're a Caribbean native and can adapt to "local lifestyle" then you'll pay about half of what you usually would. A litre of water will cost you about $6 Bajan ($3 USD, £2.35). A 2 liter of the local soda fruitee will be about $9.50 Bajan ($4.75 USD, £3.72). Mind you, if you aren't an island native you WILL be drinking *a lot* more. To be EXTREMELY safe, I'd suggest preparing as if you were going to travel to London, New York, California or any place with very high inflation. I can't stress enough it will NOT be cheap.
You are so wrong. Sorry you had such a rough time but you simply chose the wrong establishments.
So many bars have cheap beers 3 for $10 bdos dollars. Local meals are 20-30 dollars. Obviously hotel and high end restaurants prices are higher (LIKE ANYWHERE ELSE).
Where are you buying that water. Massy has a litre of water for about 3 Also our tap water is very safe to drink
Sweet drinks are 2 in the shop. 3 in any rum shop 4 and up at a fancy bar. Stop lying
@adrianrichards I went to Massy Stores Super Centre Warrens Supermarket and then when I stayed in Oistins I went to the Dover Market. If you're Caribbean then the local stuff seems normal to you. It's a lot cheaper. The imported items are the issue. If you get a box of mango juice it will be cheap because it's made right in Barbados. If you wanted frosted flakes it'd be double the price you pay outside of the country because it's imported. A box of cereal is only about $2 USD. In Massys supermarket in August it was about $7-$8 BBD. That's about $3.50-$4 USD.
Can't wait to go there soon
Can you guys keep doing the Mr whippet serias
As a lone traveler yes you can do on a budget. I’ve been twice with my now ex and 4 daughters and it’s impossible to do on a budget. But no matter what Barbados is worth what ever you spend, I love it and don’t care for the cost.
My beautiful home😊😊BARBADOS 🇧🇧
You can totally do Barbados for a reasonable price. It's a place where you CAN live like a local and have a great time.
Awesome soo Lovely how my Barbados is
Very cool
How long is the flight love ur vids
From the UK it is around 8-9 hours.
Anywhere in the world can be done on a budget - the locals that work there and provide services for said tourists do it. You just have to live like a local - I.e eat and drink where the locals go - or better yet cook or don’t drink anything but water.
Welcome to beautiful island ❤
Should use the ZR’s instead of that big yellow bus - you need to live like a local and get lucky with flights. The flights were a killer when I visited.
This "reggae bus" thing killing me..😂..... We call them "Mini Buses & Mini Vans" on the island
🤣🤣
Bus is 3.50 now and Barbadoa is very expensive for local
Yes u can do it on a budget

It’s not cheap, but it’s not extortionate. But it is worth every penny.
Did she just say the reggae bus?
I think you answered this already, yes if you can find affordable airfare
Barbados is my home island
Yea barbados is my home
My home country Barbados
50 quid a night is expensive if your staying for a few months, I'm rationing myself of rice eggs porridge from the supermarket as it's extremely expensive, if your here for two weeks to blow all your funds then fine, enjoy it then go back home, I'll see you all in the spring, 6 months later
Close too

not all the beaches are open to the public.. some of the beaches are property of the resort/hotel they are adjacent to.
i live in Barbados
i live in barbados
5 pounds for a fish cutter that’s over $15 Barbados dollars …bus fare $3.50 no transfers ….if your using English pounds then Barbados on a budget would work. Cause one pound is worth over $3 Barbados dollars … so the answer is yes
where did she get the name "reggae bus". just totally made that up and never know any to circle around the island.
Only the tourist call them reggae busses. I have family in the taxi business here and they say the same thing. Locals just know they're basically "tourist taxis". The tourists call them the "reggae bus" because they play reggae to entertain them.
One of my dads nates has a home in barbados and has a massive flag on the balcony saying barbados millers
I live in barbados
