Good raiding with your king. Get a stable to build horseman and scouts. A patrolling scout is cheaper than the walls. You sent 2 scouts on patrol over the center of the map. And you gonna see if an attack is forming. Get military production buildings after the 2nd TC is out. Always prepare for an ram push. Horseman do Huge Bonus Damage to Rams and archers. If the enemy goes Spearman, your longbows do huge bonus damage. If the enemy goes fast castle or 3Tc you can go raiding with the horseman too. Better stay away from 3Tc until your Apm really went up. 2 Tc is challenge enough. Or try to train a fast imperial build order with fast enclosures. But i believe you should train to defend ram pushes and fast timing attacks first.
Well played, you defended the push really well. Here are some notes I made for you: Loved the shout out 😁 your scouting wasn't as bad as you said, you didn't overlap your own path which is good and went away from his scout. What was your plan for this btw? Was it 2TC to castle or feudal? If you were planning castle, you didn't need to go so heavy into wood and farms, getting deer/boar would have got you there much faster. Even though English farms are cheap they take time to pay off. Also need to scout out production and if he is making units to not get caught out by a mass like that, would have given you more time to make defensive units. Nice idling with the king. Try to target low health vills if you can. It takes one charge and two hits to kill one with the king. 3TC is ok if you need it. So if they have 2TC or in castle with relics. Otherwise 2TC is fine imo. Also only worth it if yoh produce from it 100%. When your farms are empty you can rally your TC to a farm and new vills will fill them up, even if they aren't constructed. Can be really handy When you are getting attacked like that, try to put houses in a safe place otherwise they block your production so you can't make units to defend I love your greedy wall at 15:50 but prob better just putting a tower on the gold. HRE MAA will burn a wall down super fast Great work grabbing relics. Denying those is always massive. You can also rally one building to 3 relics and one priest will collect and drop off all 3 When you defended his big push you needed to head straight for his base and attack his eco. Don't give them time to rebuild and regroup When you have mass longbows, always get +1 ranged damage first, then +1 ranged defence. Military academy to speed up production is good, but not before those two. Keep pushing! 💪🏻
@Amerath90 Yeah plan was, 2 TC to castle to get Xbows to counter MMA. Of course, that was all pretty much blind because I didn't scout what he was actually up to until he surprised me in my base. This tip of getting out of the typical English mindset of "stay in my base, build farms, move out" and actually utilizing the map resources for faster play is definitely something I will implement going forward. As my opponents become more savvy, I need to be thinking more in these terms for sure. Did NOT know that mechanic, that you can just rally to farms, even if they aren't finished constructing, and they will sort themselves out and construct them. Great tip. Thanks for the watch and these great tips! Appreciate all your doing in the community!
@reading_books_aoe4 You're welcome mate. I had the same stay in my base mentality for HRE Aachen and Byz winery, but now I am trying to do it less to use my resources more effectively. Like going out to deer pack if I see them going FC with no units because they can't really stop me. With the units, you scouted the barracks so you should assume some units are coming, so sitting your scout between their production and your base will usually show you what they are doing. I've been caught out by some crazy proxy bases and stuff, but it's good to keep an eye on their units if you can. Someone also gave me a great tip before, try to keep an eye on the number of units you are seeing. They send 3 knights to you and then 3-4 mins later you only see the same 3 knights, probably means they are spending resources elsewhere and not on units, like a castle age. Easy said than done, but good to keep in mind 👍🏻
Great advice, trying to keep track of small groups of units. I have a bit of game sense for this if I feel they pull off an attack, or decide not to engage when they normally would, probably means they want to tech before engaging. But that's another great indicator I haven't thought about. If you don't see units, they are spending that res somewhere else. Great tip. I'll give it a shot on the next one to focus scouting unit production better. Sometimes I forget I even have a scout once feudal hits. Thanks!
