    I have the SFX 93.25 inch as my daily carry. 15+1. I liken this gun to driving a really nice Lexus. It’s not exciting but it has a luxurious feel and runs perfectly. I think I have had one failure to feed in over 5000 rounds. When I first got it, it had some quirks. It’s not a 1911 or a 2011. It’s sort of lives in its own space. The trigger had an unusual feel to me, and the pronounced back strap altered the position of how I had to hold the pistol. I thought the trigger was too heavy so I had a trigger job taking it down to 2 1/2 pounds. It took me a few hundred rounds to get used to it but 6now it’s my favorite. It is really designed incredibly well for concealed carry. Every corner is rounded. Incredibly comfortable on the body.
    My only complaint, and it’s just a little nitpicky, is I carry in a leather holster and the thumb safety can occasionally become disengaged. It’s never caused a problem.
    I have a staccato CS and a nighthawk counselor and this is by far my favorite. If you have this pistol, there is no reason to get a staccato CS. This pistol is better.

    • @stevem4783
      @stevem4783 Год назад +6

      You think having a 2.5lb trigger pull and a safety that can "occasionally become disengaged" on a EDC isn't a huge problem?

      I'd actually like to see it compared to platforms at far lesser price points like the Staccato SC (~2k-2500) and the Bul SAS II (~1500) to see that you don't have to spend that much money to get very good, accurate, & reliable system. Could add the Stealth Platypus in there too although it's not a SC, it's full sized so could be a bit large for EDC.

    Lots of people can afford a $3500 EDC. I say if you got it - buy the WC. I’m really glad people make and buy these guns - even if I’m not going to buy them. These guns have to make the guns I do buy better and better. I’ll keep my Springfield
    Hellcat RDP with the shield red dot, compensator with a 15 round magazine and SL-7 sub light and iwb holster for $1200 delivered. It needs a better trigger for $150 but shoots fine and flat as is. It is just not as fast as it could be. I don’t think I spent $3500 total for this pistol and my AR-15 and AR - 10 battle rifles (less light and optics for the rifles) all together. We live in the golden age for guns. I ‘m so glad there are great guns that suit my purpose as well as the fabulous guns for the more well off who can and will spend their money as they see fit - just as I do.

    Chris, stop looking at everything in Glock terms. Believe me, in this day and age people have finally realized that Glocks are in the lower 1/3 of acceptable guns. They don't even get to the level of a good gun. Even after all of these years, Glock still doesn't get it.
    That being said, in my honest opinion, you are by far one of the top 3 gun reviewers out there. I love your honesty and lack of fear of hurting anyones feelings with your reviews. Aside from your unexplainable attachment to Glocks, you always seem to get it right.
    I like the Wilson offerings, just not the price. I like their frame offerings for the Sig 320 line and have built numerous firearms for my customers using them. I can even make a Glock good, only issue is that it will have almost no Glock parts left on ot. When a customer asks me to build them a good Glock, I let them shoot one of my Caniks, Custom CZ's, custom sigs, or I sell them a Shadow systems firearm.

      @@SinCityVillain For me, it is a great balance of form meets function. It is probably the most fun handgun I’ve shot; I love 1911s and own a couple others. I also love the compactness of something like the Springfield Hellcat and how it almost disappears on you. To me, the SFX9 3.25 combines both into one package. It is a blast to shoot and incredibly accurate, far more than I am. Yet it’s very easy to carry and conceal. The next closest pistol to compare it to would either be a Staccato P that I’ve shot or the Springfield Prodigy which I own and also enjoy. Is the SFX9 twice as good as those? No. But maybe 20ish% better, and more importantly, very easy to carry and shoot. There’s obviously a bit of bias; its not a cheap gun. However, I have had zero buyer’s remorse with this gun and would recommend it wholeheartedly. As an aside, mine is the 10 round version, but I carry with the 15 round magazine.

      There are $300 polymer 9mms out there that will consistently and reliably run through any ammo you feed them and will keep asking for more. Those are the EDC pieces you want, because not only are they reliable and low maintenance, god forbid if you have to use them, it won't suck when they end up sitting in an evidence locker for an untold amount of time. Not to mention you won't care if they get all scuffed up from carry use. You keep on thinking lighting nearly $4k on fire to stuff a 1911 in your shorts was a good decision, though.

      This is a question of battle of arms. I shoot 1911/2011’s all the time and I want my carry-on to feel the same. Switching from a high-quality 1911 trigger to a striker trigger when it counts can create problems at the wrong time with accuracy. The 365 XL is definitely smaller and would be more useful with a more deep conceal.

    I want to like Wilson combats. I love their content sure. I know they are quality guns, of course. The problem is when I go to shoot a single stack USPSA match my Magnum Research 1911 (made by bul armory) seems to stack up to Wilsons and Colts at less than a third of the price. Ive even had single stack competitors ask me where my "custom 1911" was made. Hard for my to justify the price for something that doesnt really seem to match up.

    If you want a comparable double stack 1911 / 2011 for $2000 less than the WC EDC X9 SC, you should try the BUL Armory SAS II UL 3.25. Or, for $400 more, you can get the comped model. Wilson combats slogan should be "Copying other's homework to upcharge to fudds"
    Wilson combat: 1911s are the best handguns ever designed.
    Also Wilson combat: dropping the slide on an open chamber, or a hand fed round, dry firing, and must use high quality brass with FMJs or the gun will break.
