  • Venerable Bhikkhuni Dhammananda sheds light on the challenge of cultivating interest in Buddhism among today's youth, attributing the waning enthusiasm to the pervasive influence of technology. She advocates for parental involvement, asserting that understanding and embodying Buddhist teachings can anchor the younger generation.
In the context of Thailand's religious amalgamation-blending animistic, Buddhist, and Brahmanic elements-Venerable Dhammananda explores the intricate tapestry of Thai Buddhism.
The Venerable reflects on the concept of merit-making (puñña), emphasizing the intrinsic joy derived from positive actions and the crucial role of intention. Despite the widespread awareness of the five precepts, she observes a gap in comprehending broader Buddhist goals such as nibbana and bodhichitta.
Venerable Dhammananda encourages a unified understanding across diverse Buddhist traditions, highlighting the shared essence that transcends linguistic differences.

theravada is a school of elders, and anybody who wishes to become enlightened has to start from the basics, I see the different schools of Buddhism as stages to complete. There is no division b/w Mahayana and Theravada; the approach level is different.
