"Lady Jane" is a song by the English rock band, The Rolling Stones, penned by the group's songwriting duo of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and initially included on their album, Aftermath, which was released on 12 April 1966. It showcased Brian Jones's instrumental incorporation of baroque rock as it was beginning to be introduced, and became influential in originating the musical style later known as world music..
Terry Knight was an American rock and roll music producer, promoter, singer, songwriter and radio personality. Former DJ, Knight was tenured in several radio stations before trying his hand at a solo musical career in 1964. As a DJ, he was an early advocate of The Rolling Stones, and imitated their style as soloist and later when he joined band The Pack. The group, impressed by Knight's contacts in the music industry, accepted him as their frontman in 1965. In the band, Knight became the singer and songwriter and he quickly took control of the band switching to a more casual look similar to The Rolling Stones. The band name was changed to Terry Knight and The Pack, reflecting Knight's de facto role as the charismatic front man and leader of the group. Six of their nine singles made regional Top 40s throughout Michigan, Ohio and New York, with two of them - "You're a Better Man Than I" (originally by The Yardbirds) and "I (Who Have Nothing)" (a cover of a Ben E. King song) - reaching the national charts. "I (Who Have Nothing)" went to #46 and earned the band an appearance on Dick Clark's television program Where the Action Is. Their debut album, Terry Knight and the Pack, and second album, Reflections, were both released in 1966, include: "This Precious Time" (composed and produced by P.F. Sloan), covers of the Rolling Stones' songs "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and "Lady Jane", and several Knight originals: "Numbers", "A Change on the Way" and "Love, Love, Love, Love, Love". After their second LP, Reflections, Knight left the band to pursue a frustrated solo career as producer and singer. He enjoyed some success in radio, modest success as a singer, but phenomenal success as the original manager-producer for Grand Funk Railroad and the producer for Bloodrock. Knight associated with super model Twiggy and raced cars with film star Paul Newman in the mid-1970s before becoming addicted to cocaine, which consumed him and he retired permanently from show business. By the 1980s he had straightened himself out, settling in Yuma AZ. He melded into the community working in advertising sales for a weekly newspaper. In 2004 Terry Knight was murdered at the age of 61. He was stabbed multiple times by his daughter's boyfriend Donald Fair in their shared apartment in Temple, Texas, after Knight attempted to intercede in an argument over Fair's use of methamphetamine. Four years after his death, Terry Knight and The Pack were voted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends online Hall of Fame ..

My friend Zara' s lovely. graphic design in this fantastic cover of the Stones arguably best song. This version by the Pack who later evolved into Grand Funk Railroad is poignant and very very pleasurable to listen to! Zara was undecided between presenting this version or one by an artist named Casar who also sang this song equally as well as Terry's band but is less known in the states than the one she decided to post I bet alot if Grand Funk fans may not know of this version and metamorphic transformation. Zara kindly added a thank you to me for my input. Zara, beautiful graphics that you produced for this video Her work is phenomenal and I urge you to also introduce Casar's version also someday as avid music lovers like us would appreciate his version too, as it introduces a new name for folks in the west like me who never heard his version either This version is the most mellow that I think pre funk has ever done I'd never heard this before by them and is nice to hear them in a mellow love song. Rock on Zara, and thank you again! YOU did all the work, and beautifully done
