    You did it wrong. The thermostat goes in with the giggle hole at the top of 12 O'clock position, you had it at the 5 O'clock position.

      @@Lawless187indika If you watch in the video at 4:00 it's that little nubby thing on the top (12 o'clock position) just below the seal when he takes it out. That's the proper way to put the thermostat back. At 4:41 he puts the thermostat in wrong and that nubby thing is at the (4 o'clock position). I saw this myself and was like OMG... I'm not even a mechanic and I've done enough research to know that's wrong. Glad someone else pointed it out.

    Thanks for sharing, but woops look like you put the bubbler valve on bottom. Thermostat should be placed with that positioned at top to allow air bubbles to dissipate

    Careful with those 10mm nuts on the studs when re-attaching the housing. They break very easily if your over tighten them. Really bad angle to extract or bore them out.

    you forgot to test the new thermostat for compliancy. Place it in hot water and wait to see if it opens up. Simple and easy. You don't want to go through the whole shebang again with a defective thermostat.

    Would have been helpful for new auto diy’ers to show putting the new gasket on, and also explain why it’s important to have the air bleed jiggle thingy on the TOP not side or bottom. That second one is very crucial information that you didn’t follow in your video.

    • @mikesmith-st9fb
      @mikesmith-st9fb 5 лет назад +1

      they go bad when they go bad. It depends who makes the thing. Anyhow, it's a simple fix. You don't even need a thermostat and can drive safely without it to get you where you're going. That's why I always keep a ratchet set in my vehicle. You never know.
