I’m really glad you post these type of videos especially for folks like me that just starting to delve into assemble my own helis! I’m a novice heli pilot with limited experience with heli assembly, videos like this is a god send, thanks for posting Jeff!
I’m glad these videos are helpful and useful for you. I remember the days of starting out and having zero help, no videos to watch, nobody to ask and learning it all on my own. The reason I started this channel! I wanted to help how I could.
11:06 If you reverse the order of the blade spacers, they key and stack together; no need to slide them in. Makes it much easier to install the blades 👍
Great video! Thanks! This has got some real beefy parts in it. However, got me the Align TB70 (Super Combo) after your video on that, so I'll stick with that one. It's still in the box, though. I may swap out the MicroBeast that came with it for something else, too.
I too have a TB70, but I got the ultimate combo. Running an iKon2 with an SRXL receiver and a satellite with antennas. Gens Ace 5100 12s pack, IX-14 tx. Getting 5 and 6 minute flights at low head speeds. I really like it. Jeff’s videos have helped me immensely, I recommend his previous vids to help with set ups
Thank you! The TB70 is a very nice kit! I would highly recommend swapping out the microbeast for a iKon 2! You will thank me later you get so many more features, and tunability with the iKon 2 than you ever would with a microbeast. The only thing you need to be careful love on the TB70 is the main gear. They are notorious for exploding in flight, but apparently they came out with the update? So I would look at the one in your kit.
I’m loading packs without removing the canopy, so the canopy being removed with less frequency will reduce cracking and pin removal. No need for magnets. Also the head shims can be loctited at the collar, so they won’t fall out.
I keep my canopy on as well. I have not removed it besides this video since the model was built. But! If you need to remove your canopy for whatever reason after a few times, it is going to crack. All fiberglass canopies do. That’s a good idea with the shims but still wish they had a thick and thin so that would not be needed.
always amazes me how heavey they end up at...11 lbs is a big weight especially if it hits you in the head at speed.....surprised to see the main gear looking a bit feather edged. looks like a nice heli and one you would get good fun to fly with as it has all the buttons in the right places.
Helicopters are very dangerous, especially this size. If they hit you in the head you’re dead. If they hit you at all your extremely hurt or worse. You have to respect this size heli.
I hate the body clips! But if you do ALOT of backwards flying the canopy can/will rip off. Which they were a lock style like SAB. Hopefully soon! Gotta buy a M7 and everything for it.
When I watched the build video, I also disliked all the head shimming as well. Tail drive on top for me is a hard no. Other than those two issues, looks like a solid machine.
The two shims is a real pain on top and bottom of the blades. I completely understand that each blade is different and some need more or less but I would like to of seen a thicker and thinner shim design. The belt being on top is a real pain if you need to remove the boom for whatever reason.
Thanks for the video, do you know if we can use the RS4 GTS Flight control on other heli 450 class? Asking about it since it had a new firmware update. Any respond will be appreciated. Thanks
Lol 😅 I thought you said a 22 tail pulley but you said 20 tooth 😂, I was confused about tail ratio 😅been higher with a bigger pulley, 😅English not my first lenguaje, great videos as always
Great question! So far I prefer the RAW 700. The RS7 is great at high head speed but seems to struggle at lower and feel heavy. The RAW 700 is easier to work on and wire, faster build and flys great at all head speeds. Both models have there place but I would recommend the RAW 700!
Jeff, thank you 🙏🏼 for your inspiration and knowledge, how much backlash should there be, between the helical pinion gear ⚙️ on the motor and the bigger nylon gear that drives the main rotor blades, say on the Blade Fusion 360 smart ? I am planning on getting the 550 stretch super combo kit for my birthday 🎂 in May 👍🏻
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching and supporting the channel. I greatly appreciate it. So any helicopter regardless of the size you can do the paper method. If you watch the second or last part of the build series,(can’t remember which one) you will see me do this method. you want a piece of paper, the size of the gear and you run it in between the pinion and the main gear. Look at the paper and see what the marks look like. If it is a perfect indentation with no cuts, your gear mesh is perfect. If it cuts through the paper, it’s too tight and if it barely leaves any marks it’s too loose. Been doing this method for over 20 years and it works great.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Fantastic information ℹ️ , as a lifelong machinist, I tried to “set it up” as tight as possible with almost zero backlash, and it felt almost tight to myself, but. . . with the magnets 🧲 of the motor it was difficult to know what’s, what 😮. Thinking 🤔 about getting the Blade Fusion 550 quick build kit super combo for upcoming birthday 🎂. It seems logical to me ! ? ?
@@RotoRCol Thank you 🙏🏼 for your opinion, but I’m faithful to a certain brand name to a certain extent, I can’t complain about my BlackJack 42 or the AЯRMA KRATON 8s either, along with my Harbor tug 30 or the Jet Stream jet boat, all curtesy of a conglomeration of several decent companies.
Dude get what YOU like and what YOU want. Why would you ask someone on how to spend your money? Reminds me of days past; Kyosho or Hirobo, Thunder Tiger or Align?
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching. I had a feeling it had a lot to do with the blades. This is my first Heli on AZ blades. Going to order a different set and try them.
It was a comment regarding the Goosky RS7 if it is worth it. I made it in the morning (CET) and then you posted the video the exact same day. It looked as if it was dedicated to my post. RS7 is a nice machine but you are right, those 3 things (upper mounted tail belt pulley, canopy and double shimes per each rotor blade side) can be improved to make it super nice
I was never impressed by it at all and you dislikes of it has sold me to a big no. Its not a good low head speed bird and i like to switch up. I will stick to tron. Great video Jeff.
It’s definitely not for everybody. That is the main reason I make the video so each and everyone of you can make up your mind as what I like maybe what you like or what I like maybe what you don’t like and vice versa. I have a feeling the heaviness at lower head speed. Is the blades not so much the helicopter but I will be testing that very soon.
My biggest pet peeve is how much of a rip off this is of a specter v2. I was looking forward to it till I seen it closer. I literally already own this just Xlpower instead of goosky
I understand what you mean. It is definitely inspired by an XL specter, but it is completely different at the same time. None of the parts fit with each other and there is subtle differences that make it completely different if that makes sense.

I’ll try that but I don’t remember the whole being big enough in the second washer to stack them?
great video, thanks, nice to see the rs7 up close.
Thank you for watching! Greatly appreciate it.

Great job with both the positive and negatives!
Thank you! I definitely like the Heli, does fly good. Few little improvements and it could be great.
Orsum and solid Heli, I didn’t know they made 12s Lipo sticks. 👍🏻
Thank you! I greatly appreciate it. Oh yes! they even make 14 S stick packs as well.
Thanks Jeff
You’re welcome!
8:45 yes I wonder what was the reason or did they just overlooked that it
I wonder the same! They did the same on the RS4. It can be a real pain to get the belt off if need be.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I jam hesitant to get one for this reason but the other reason is because I have many helicopters.
But it is a great helicopter

@@westhobbiesrc8051 well said...when i have my msh 700 inverted and around me i treat it like its a flying chainsaw, this helps me back off a little.

Could you do a comparison video like the others you have done? RS7 vs. Raw 700?
Definitely! I’m almost finished buying everything for my RAW 700 build so as soon as I finish that model up, I will do a comparison video.
Would love to see comparison vs the RAW Piuma too!
Brother can I get the buy link
Great bid Jeff. Interesting of their choice to put the AR above the main gear. Think they'll be an RS6?
Thank you! It was definitely an interesting choice. I hope they do! Would love a 550/600 size.

Hey I have a raw 420 can a 4651t receiver work on this Heli. Just the 4651t on the heli
Technically yes it will work just fine but I like having a DSMX satellite on anything bigger then a 500
Lord have mercy I'm about to goop 😩
Lol
Hi Jeff, do you know if Goo-Sky will be planning to make some changes based on your recommendations?
Which one do you prefer to fly? Goosky RS7 or Raw 700? Please, elaborate. Thanks.

Don’t waste your money on blade helis, their parts are really expensive and crappy quality and old designs
