the worst part of the warthog run, in both 1 and 3, had a lot more to do with the physics of the game (and the fact that sentinel beams and infection forms both served to cause your 2 ton spartan body inside the 3 ton assault truck bouncing around like they weighed 10 pounds) than the controls of the hog itself

The hammerhead was supposed to be fragile. It's a light exploration vehicle, not an APC. It does what it was meant to do. I had ridiculous fun controlling it and hovering circles around the poor Geth that couldn't hit me for trying. The key to fighting in the Hammerhead is hit&run attacks, fly in, hit them, fly out, wait for any damage to repair, and repeat. It takes skill. It's not like you're in the Mako and you can just sit there and blast everything to bits with a huge tank cannon.

They really improved the driving in ME:A with Nomad, same can be said of combat, movement and game mechanics in general. Shame that the story was not as captivating as the trilogy. @Dhalin 4 года назад +4

@@thegreatpineapple4425 I rather liked that DLC vehicle in ME2, I forget the name of it. Hot dang that thing could move. It was made out of glass, though as it really couldn't take very many hits, but _it wasn't supposed to_ but it was still fun. Also, the Mako... just save your game often and if you get eaten by a thresher maw, just reload lol. I'd blow up Geth camps, thresher maws, all kinds of stuff. I remember having so much fun. Sadly, any modern computer I try to play ME1 on, has sound crackling issues for some weird reason.
Also that car chase in ME2 was rather fun even if it a bit short. Sadly, the last time I attempted this, the game kept crashing at the end of it.

@@Dhalin to be absolutely honest, I prefer the Mako over the hammerhead for a few reasons:
1: the Mako can take a beating, while the hammerhead falls apart after a few seconds of sustained fire from a machine gun turret

Speaking of vehicle sections in COD games, Black Ops has several memorable ones. Like that part where you get to drive around in Cuba for roughly 15 seconds. But my favorite part is probably the one where you and Woods steal an enemy attack helicopter and somehow know how to operate it. What makes it even better is the fact that just about anything you shoot causes a massive explosion. Like that oil pipeline that runs all across the level for some reason.

I’m not sure about other countries but “Pocket Circuit” was HUGE in Japan back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. What the game calls Pocket Circuit is actually based on the Mini 4WD model kit cars and the kids were all about the Cyclone Magnums and Tridagger X (I have probably lost all non-Japanese people by this point lol). I was genuinely amazed at just how much attention and details the developers got right, right down to the parts customization and the feel of the races they’d have at department stores. A lot of places even had the promoter/judge like the Pocket Circuit Fighter, except they were called Mini4 Fighters. Honestly, playing that minigame really brought me back to when I was a kid, and it’s truly amazing when any piece of entertainment can bring back such memories and emotions ;’)

Sure the controls were fairly simple, but honestly thats why they worked. Smaller ships felt nimble, bombers felt heavy, and the command(?) ships felt like giant fridges with guns and engines, which is exactly what they should feel like. Ship to ship combat? select a target, get missile lock if you have them, and use your blasters. Capital ships? Take a bomber, and, well. bomb them, specifically the modules. Or take a command ship, go inside, and start sabotaging.

Oh, man, that entire chase sequence in Madagascar from Uncharted 4 was probably my favorite part of that wholly awesome game. It was so much fun and amazingly epic and cinematic, and, just as pointed out here, it had so much variety in just one sequence. Driving, grappling, standard combat on top of vehicles, driving again, and then shooting from the back of a motorcycle. It went on for so long but managed to not feel even remotely dragged out.

My favorite vehicle section in a non driving game has to be sleeping dogs. If only for the way any car chase becomes a bad ass action flick with smooth driving, the ability to ram (which came real handy shaking cops) and the action hi-jack mechanice which made me feel like such an action hero when Wei without missing a beat would jump from his current car to the next and instantly take the wheel. It was so useful for when my current car was on it's last legs in the chase or when I was in a car chase or just driving around and happened to see a nice car I wanted instead.

I also would consider the race in Majoras mask where you play as a Goron and turn into a ball with spikes alot of fun
