which tracks did reyn do? the loader? the loader is not very good made imo how come reyn's so overhyped? which sids did he do that are masterpieces, and no i don't count last ninja 3 as anything good either compared to last ninja 1 and 2
Awesome! This was another, rocking game that weirdly outshone the Amiga version in almost every aspect. And an interesting challenge to musicians... Can you make great in-game tunes with just two channels and (likely) less than 10kb of music data.
@@ltva8781 If you look at the level tunes you notice they were only using two channels. This left a channel free for some pretty decent sound effects. It was pretty rare to get both simultaneously.
Even more impressive is the 1-channel level tunes in Robocop3. Sadly all very short, but hugely hugely impressive. ruclips.net/video/JdmpyXrgnUg/видео.html
How did these musical gods do this on 3 channels, sometimes 2?! Also who told them to make the title screen such a banger... I doubt anyone at the time would actually stop and listen for long at release
@@RedTsarOldChannel-INACTIVE Ocean Loader 2 was Martin Galway. Reyn did not do any of the Ocean Loaders. They were all done by Galway, Jonathan Dunn, and I believe Peter Clarke did one as well.
WAUW!! Knew of the title tune but didn't know the loaders and level 2 were so good.. What a power duo btw Reyn and Jeroen ... Does anyone know if the tunes are coops or split between them?
I suspect the reason for the change in muso was that Hewson Consultants went under while the game was in production. It was shelved for a while before being completed and released by... 21st Century Entertainment... I think...?
Acrouzet, help me out with something. I'm listening to Jogeir Lilijedahl "In the mood", and sounds the same with the title theme over here, why is that?
How do you achieve the oscilloscope view? Do you actually connect the SID to a digital oscilloscope or do you use a plugin for a SID chip emulator or how?

You are lucky. Now if there were seven 7s then you would be extremely lucky. But it's kinda unrealistic for an oscilloscope view video to get that many views.
The oscilloscope view adds so much to the song, it's insane !
This is when i realized Reyn Ouwehand was a genius composer too !
:)

i like those sounds in the intro that sound like an aluminum sheet wobble
And I thougt Ocean Loader 2 was the best loader theme
thats the *worst* one

Amazingly that was also done by Reyn.

Oh, I thought it was Ouwehand's work! Oh well, thanks for the correction.
Wow, very enjoyable tunes.
Title music has huge Sunsoft vibes

Reyn did the loader tunes, levels 1 & 2, and the ending, and Jeroen did the title theme, levels 3-5, and the high score theme.
@@acrouzet Well done both of them .. thanks for the info ! :)

In the Mood is a cover of the Rubicon title theme.
i just realized the first part of the title theme kinda sounds like the chicken beatbox
Probably imagining it but was the Title theme also used in Turbo OutRun?
no it wasn't
How do you achieve the oscilloscope view? Do you actually connect the SID to a digital oscilloscope or do you use a plugin for a SID chip emulator or how?
I use an emulator and a program called corrscope which renders an oscilloscope visualization of .wav files.
