I will gravitate to the SID chip over the FM any day, but tracks 3 and 4 sound like they're coming from a Sega Genesis. Not even sure the 16bit system would even be as expressive as this to be honest.
You'd be hard pressed to get sounds like that from an FM synth. That's all subtractive synthesis, and really great filters. A better comparison would be the likes of just about any Moog or earlier Korg synths like the MS-20.
incredible filter usage on this one
always impressed by their ingenuity.
Awesome view of awesome SID tunes, thank you.
Tune 1 synths remind me bit of the PSX Demo 1 Underwater theme, cool tracks!
Out of this world EG/VCF patterns.
I've always loved how filthy dirty the SID could sound.
Uber cool tunes
Tune 2 is definitely my favorite of these
i'll likely get deaf from those bass drops, but it's still so damn good xd
Oh my god this is dope as hell!
this is how i imagined menu themes should have been
i didnt know this style actually existed!
Whooow I really love it.
Congrats to the author, and a big thank you for the upload.
Impressive.
Should've given the waves a spooky orange color, or a s k e l e t a l in the background.
Track 3 is magic.
Pure magic... works so well in the demo too

1:11 *Flash game flashbacks*
This is Nikola Tesla level ingenuity
2:45 - Donkey Kong?
Edit: Awesome tunes btw, there's some really clever sound design here.
Yes, check out the demo: ruclips.net/video/-0FwiHstrhQ/видео.html
8-bit dance party! 😁
Reminds me of SanctuaryRPG. Awesome stuff.
You're the first person I've ever seen comment about sanctuaryRPG
I recognize those sound effects at 5:56 and 6:12 ... space trap or hunters moon?
this is SID?
I've seen the real thing. It's hilarious, to me at least if you read the credits
Which sid chips are responsible for these delicious sounds?
the demo tells you to use the 8580, and right now i checked that it even specifies the .sid player to use the 8580 chip lol
@@ruby_R53thank you!
@@deyoungstar no problem.
When Chiptune gone into a cheaptune
Uh... No, when Chiptune lost his Chip: It's a Tune.
