The lexus RX350 and RAV4 I should be able to sell for $14K as a flip. The Saturn needs new transmission solenoids but should be able to sell that for $4K after repairs. I'm having way more fun driving a bunch of old cars, compared to having one fancy car and paying $20K in sales taxes alone.

A couple months after I left that dealership (about a year after she bought it) she apparently came back and sold it back to the dealership without getting another vehicle for a nearly $80k loss and then came back a couple days later with her dad and husband (the ones who’s money it actually was) and they where furious 😂 Tried getting refunds for a bunch of stuff, wanted to buy it back at the price they sold it back to the dealership, threatened lawsuits, etc.
I get not trusting the salesman, but when they’re turning you away from one of the most expensive models with one of the highest commissions for a new vehicle, you might want to at least ask why 🤣 I didn’t sell it to her just to be clear, she was with her husband and they left to look around other dealerships before she come back on the weekend with her dad and they bought it from our top salesman after he talked them into it and she convinced her dad. Woman was probably mid-late 30’s.

Buying one of those vehicles with "Lot Rot" isn't in your best interests and then you actually have to wonder if they'll be around long enough to honor the warranty. Why would anyone put themselves in that situation? its just not worth it if you value your time and money.

Here in Germany, American made cars were always a pretty rare sight, but you could and still can get many types at a dealer (Wrangler, GC, RAM, Camaro, Challenger, 300c, Bronco, Mustang and others). Prices were moderate and sometimes really fair for what you get. I owned a Chrysler 300c (2007 model) and Chrysler Crossfire (2003 model). Anyway, Detroit Iron has not the best reputation in a country where Audi, VW, Mercedes and Porsche are produced. Still, I like Amarican cars.
Around 2019, prices suddenly exploded for the US made stuff. A new Wrangler f. e. has a 70.000 € price tag while it was around 39.000 € in 2019.

I’m up here in God’s country, Canada. Recently I went to the Dodge dealership to look at a two door jeep Rubicon. As soon as I asked if they had any on the lot they wanted me to sit down and put my name in the computer. I said, no, I just want to look at one. They found a black one in the back and brought it up. I was absolutely shocked at the MSRP. Almost $90k and that’s just a two seater. Imagine after taxes and the add ons. I still can’t believe it, I told my buddy who was with me that in two years you’d be lucky to get $40 grand for it. ps the stereo sounded like crap.

I have a 2006 1500 mega cab 4x4, factory lifted. When the engine blew, it was time to make a decision. As soon as I found out what they were asking for a similar package of truck today, the decision made itself.
I put a new engine in my truck. I painted my truck. I upgraded all of the electronics in my truck. I put remote start in my truck. I redid the interior in my truck.
I made my 2006 truck brand new again, and spent about $20,000 doing it.
And I get the V8 hemi in my deal.
They can blow these truck prices out of their asses. Like you said, you don't even get the V8 anymore for all that money. They are insane.
The only thing that's not brand new in my 18-year-old truck, now, is the transmission. I'm sure I'll have to have that rebuilt sooner or later. I will glad they drop another four grand on that rebuild when the time comes.
What I will never do, ever in this life, it's been six figures on a damned truck. There are ways around it.
