I have been using my Lynx grill and side burners for 17 years now. I keep it covered and live by the coast. I clean the grill every few years. It still looks new and has held up well. It is part of my outdoor kitchen with granite counter tops. I am in need of a new ceramic briquette tray and one burner needs to be cleaned.

I have mine for over 15 years and have replaced some small items as needed & bricketts .It was left outdoors covered for the winter (N.Y) .I just moved to the Florida beach area and would like to get it overhauled (it was banged around during the move) It still works but some items need to be replaced or updated. I love this grill and if I can't find someone to overhaul , I will call Lynx parts and get what I need and hopefully restore it for the next 20 years. Safely

I can’t find any updates on your video? You said you would cook on it.

I bought a top of the line Lynx grill less than a year ago and 2 infrared burners have quit working and I cannot get it fixed. I also have a Lynx fridge and icemaker and Lynx but it makes no difference to them. I long for the simplicity and reliability of my old BBQ. "The Lynx Life" is poor quality product and unresponsive service. I have to use my (non Lynx) smoker when I entertain large groups while my Lynx grill sits their looking pretty but 2 burners will not light. I have never been treated so poorly- and Lynx is incompetent or just doesn't care.

Looks like the Passive chrome oxide layer has flashed off the grill grates (from the heat) exposing them to rust. It baffles me why not one grill maker offers Inconel Grill Grates. Inconell is that same metal on your electric stove top burners and also the electric water heater elements. After years of use the metal surfaces are smooth as a baby's bottom. And yet no one even offers an inconel plated grill.

Raul, inconnel is a nickel super alloy.
You are right it is corrosion and heat resistant. It is also quite expensive. Currently about 5x the price of 304. To put into perspective, the Lynx grates weigh somewhere around 8 lbs each. Three 8 lb grates made from inconnel with distribution, retail and business costs, etc. the price to the consumer could be $800-$1000. Even on a expensive American grill, that's a tough cost factor to fit in.
It is also extremely difficult to add as a plating. There are only a few places that can do it and their applications are usually aerospace and offshore drilling and the costs again get pretty crazy. This is why you don't see any grill companies using it.

I am trying to demystify one detail for last few days, and no success so far, maybe you can help.
Thinking between 36" and 42". They both have same burner configuration option. Went to local store to see it, they had 42" on display, and what caught my attention is that briquette trays looked like "shrinked".
That made me think, if briquette trays are same size on both 36" and 42", it means that on 42" there will be some space between briquette trays left and right, since bigger area needs to be covered with same size of trays, right?!
And more drippings will fall between the trays, making mess underneath burners, more flare ups ....
So, I am trying to find out for days, is there difference in size of briquette trays on 36" vs 42"? Every video and picture i saw shows 4x7 briquette count, but maybe metal sheet is bigger on 42"...?

This an update on my Lynx 27" Pro cart model, which is pushing 16 years (2006). Only the igniters have failed, but to me they are more trouble than they are worth on any grill, anyway. I stick a blowtorch between the top grates, and after turning on the gas, one flick gets it started instantly. The stainless is like new, but I keep it covered.(why not?) One red brass burner and one briquet tray got a hole in each from all the marinade I was slopping on the grill, and they not only sent me a new burner-worth over $300, but a new briquet tray, too, at no charge, because the burners are warranted for your lifetime. Made in California, not China, you get what you pay for. I have to laugh when I see guys at Home Depot picking out a $200 grill. I know, they are expensive, and I only bought it new because I happened to have the money at that time. The rotisserie still works beautifully, and at 50,000 BTUs I can't even hold my hand over the hot grill. I converted it to natural gas when we moved to the Jersey Shore, and I will keep it forever.

304 SS isn't really considered marine grade. 316 is.
bulk cost is like $2.80 per lb for 304 vs like 3.50 per lb for 316
For something so expensive, you'd think they'd be spending a few extra bucks on 3x the chloride corrosion resistance :-/
