Fascinating to hear about how you started out on your Prince journey and also you talking about Prince’s most played tracks. The majority rockers love PR, the majority of rap fans love Gett Off but it’s also great to hear that When Doves Cry is right next to PR because it’s totally unique and quite brilliant.

I've always liked your videos. Welcome back.
I'm not concerned about Prince's Legacy. His music is out there and anyone who has an ear for music is going to notice it.
People who don't have an ear for music are going to notice the music with the most expensive videos and marketing.
I first noticed Prince when 1999 was released. I was close to finishing school. I worked for an alcoholic boss at 16. We spent afternoons (extended lunch break - after my 1 hour lunch break) in the pub where video jukeboxes had just been installed and Purple Rain seemed to be the main feature, at least in my memory.
I used to buy albums fairly regularly and had quite a collection from various artists. When I played one it would go to the end of the stack. After some time I realised that all Prince's albums were pretty much always at the end. I had become bored of most of the other music.
Being a fellow Brit I grew up thinking bass guitar was a boring instrument. One of the first realisations I had, thanks to Prince was, that no instrument need be boring. There's just no excuse for it. It's laziness. I do sometimes feel it's like a curse being into Prince because most other music doesn't hit the spot. Without him, I could be enjoying Queen again or the Eurythmics but Prince killed them for me with his amazing music. Prince is the reason I play bass guitar and other instruments.
One thing I don't like about your Prince Top 30 is the number of 7" versions. It's so annoying when I put on (always without realising) and the best part of the song doesn't happen. 👿 Now I have to play the extended version to undo the disappointment. Anyway, I think I've deleted all my 7" versions now and those silly mono versions. Come on now Warner Bros!!!! Stop giving us filler.
Listening to Money Don't Matter 2nite was when I realised I had to hear everything he had done.
We live in such insane times. If Prince was here he'd have a lot to say.
I would like to hear about his music which is most relevant to our world today. There's a lot of it. Prince sold himself to us as the Partyman but he was much deeper than that. That was just a front.
"when u hear my music u'll b havin' fun. That's when I got u. That's when ur mine. 2 tell the truth, tell me what's my line?"

Lovely to here from you again. It's difficult to promote Prince music as the imagery is mostly low quality. It''s gonna take one song on mainstream for it to kick off again like what happened to Kate Bush recently. My youngest son is a bigger fan than me at the moment he's doing the work and loving it
