Thanks for a great video that shows what´s important and what´s not. I was given a Myford ml8 in very good shape and very complete some time ago and being a long time mechanic I know my tools but I´m completely new to woodturning and this video shows that you don´t need every tool in the store to get started. A couple of spindle thread adapters and a bit of fantasy to find 1 MT stuff is good to have in my case... Thanks again, stay healthy! Cheers from Sweden.

Great video a lot to take in. Years ago I took a few woodturning lessons. At that time I bought 5 chisels parting, spindle, bowl, skew, rough gouge, question is. Videos I watch now seems to use a scraper a lot more has there been a change in the tooling and the way it's used?

Traditional woodturning tools when used correctly can give very clean crisp cuts. Carbide scrapers on the other hand do as the name suggest and scrape leading to an inferior surface in most cases. Carbide scrapers are intuitive to use and do not require much experience or practice to make a project. However it is easy to tell when something is turned using only a scraper.

Hi Glenn, was just wondering do you ever use Danish oil on a piece intended for use with food. I have a few orders in which are items to be used with food, and was wondering if Danish oil would be suitable. Thanks again

Keith Small I have often used Rustins Danish oil as it has been certified food and toy safe.
