      Hi Ian, tried to reply to your email. Mailer demon??? Response - As a New Turner, the Standard Type 3 Chisel Set is your best option. Forget all the other tools for now. These will allow you to turn anything from a pen to a 12 inch bowl, with no other tools necessary apart from maybe a parting tool. I don't know what the Drive Centre is called but I know they had them in stock. After I mention it each time on a video they sell out.

    Hey there! I appreciate your ingenuity and humor. Have you ever made tower jaws, or any other kind of pin jaws using this technique? How would you imagine the process changes? Thanks!

      Hi. I have no need for wooden pin jaws. I should imagine the same process would work, just extend the wood on your chuck.

    Hello Glen, Thanks for your videos. I’ve just ordered a set of Charnwood small Cole jaws so I can follow your methods to make some wooden jaws. I noted when ordering the Cole jaws it said that you should restrict speed to 600rpm. I have some larger Cole jaws and wasn’t aware that you should significant reduce speed. I haven’t had any problems but wondered what speed do you use them at? Thanks. Neil

    • @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308
      @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Neil, I turn at 2500 RPM on my small one that I have my Wooden jaws on. I've never had an issue. I'm not saying for you to do it, but I've never had a problem. My big cole jaws, I tend to turn anything between 1200-1600 on those. I only use them to finish off the bottom of a bowl. taking the foot off. It's recommended at 600 but again in 20 years of using that set of cole jaws I've never had a problem with them.
