I love Glenn's videos. I had a lesson with him just about a year ago and Glenn is the most patient is person I have ever met. I learnt so much from him. Thank you Glenn and Liza you are both awesome x x ❤
You were a great person to teach. Glad you could take away what you learnt from it. It was a fun day. Great to meet you both again properly too. You guys are awesome too.
I love the dynamics of how you and Lisa are. Love your channel. I'll be moving to czech in a two years and I'm definitely getting this and the set off you. Keep on rocking peeps. Much love. Karma.
Welcome to the channel. Hope you have subscribed. If so, thank you. It helps the channel to grow. So do most people think about carbides like that. As you have seen that is not the case. Glad you are enjoying the videos. Unbelievable that these companies are still saying the same thing, but more people are getting to understand what a carbide chisel can do. thy can actually do more than a traditional tool can do. The proof is there.
Hi Glenn-Liza I absolutely love my GT No1 box hollower.I have to admit sometimes I just use the box hollower to complete small bowls it’s such a great easy chisel to use.Another great video keep them coming.👍👍👍
Man glen u make that look so easy. Maybe one day ill manage something close to as beautiful. I have mass amounts of firewood to be able to play with. 🏴👍
Just found your videos today. I'm really just starting out wood turning and this is the first time I've seen carbide tools used as cutters rather than scrapers. We might be coming for a UK visit next year, if so then I'll be able to order some stuff from you. (I just got a set of Chinese carbide tools, but at the very least I'd get cutters from you as it seems impossible to know which ones are worth having). Thanks for all you've been sharing.
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed this video. We have over 500 videos for you to catch up on. Lol. Have you subscribed yet, it is free? It helps our channel to grow. Thanks in advance.
Hi Glenn, Great video. Is your dust helmet a JSP Powercap Respirator that is powered with a rechargeable battery? In the States it is sold by Peke Safety in Florida. I was wondering how well you like it and would you recommend it or something else? I've been thinking of getting something better than the white dust masks with the rubber band straps. I would like to have my next purchase be a good one and not be sorry I skimped. Your thoughts and reply would be appreciated. Thanks, Myles
I could yes. But why would you want to? I wouldn't recommend you trying it, but if you feel confident enough, then by all means give it a go. I have demonstrated in other earlier videos what can be done with the Detail Chisel. So keep watching!
Received my ch3 brilliant so relaxing to use if you know what I mean 👍🏻 I also use a Simon hope 6mm but the handle is rather long might look at your 9mm but in a shorter handle if you do one? 😉
Grazie.
Hello Roberto from us. A warm greeting to you from the UK. Glad you enjoyed the video. I did a separate video on how I made my wooden chucks. ruclips.net/video/FmrNyeG_14s/видео.html Unfortunately, to turn a bowl and explaining the cuts/angles etc will take time for each video. What do you cut out in this? Our videos are for teaching. They are mainly based on questions we have been asked. We have said from the start that we do not cut or edit videos. It's like doing a live video. If it goes wrong you'll see it but you'll also see how I fix it. Quick little projects will only take up to half an hour. Other videos do not show the real finish they get before sanding. It's cut and they bring you back and you can see it's been sanded already.
Thanks guys very informative on the use of carbide. Went to try and buy some of them, but cant be shipped to US do you have any recomendations that would be comparable to the quality of yours?
@@konservator3898 I say turn as fast as you can, that you feel comfortable doing, that you feel safe doing and what the piece allows. Carbides work better with speed. However your mounting process and safety are your responsibility. I turn mostly at 2500 rpm.

You have the best tutorial on RUclips. I have been watching your tool hand more than the cutting edge. Now I need to watch both.

Interesting, I had always understood that carbide tools should only be used a scrapers and should be kept square on the rest and horizontal.

Just out of interest could you turn a bowl only using the detail carbide? I have never seen anyone attempt it so I am assuming not.

I do not use and have not used any other carbides. I can not say, they will do the same as mine.
When you say ride or get the 'bevel'. Do you mean the bevel on the carbide blade or the bevel on the shaft?
Combination of both, depending on which tool you're using and what cut you're making
Какие обороты? Я работаю такими же резцами. мне интересно.
Are you in the UK? We don't ship outside of the UK.
Меня интересуют обороты станка при работе этими резцами. 1700-2500 об/мин.?
