- In anticipation of the upcoming film Rambo: Last Blood, we visited Rambo First Blood filming locations Hope British Columbia sets the scene as a small town with a sheriff hell bent on keeping drifters away before finding out that he's messed with the wrong man.

Today we're in Hope BC retracing the
steps of Sylvester Stallone during the
filming of Rambo: First Blood

This is the former location of the gas
station that Rambo blew up as a
diversion it was specifically built by
the film crew for the purposes of being destroyed
and just off to the side it's
the Gateway to holiday land sign which
greeted Rambo as he came into town

In one exciting scene Rambo tries to
evade police by jumping these train tracks on a stolen motorbike
also during a chase Rambo drives along
this street passing hopes famous "H" tree

The Outpost gun shop was built in this
intersection just ahead and was
destroyed during filming

A Coca-Cola billboard was placed on top
of this pharmacy which helped obstruct
the film crew

Near by Othello tunnels set the scene
for one exciting action sequence where
Sylvester Stallone dangled from a jagged
rock face

Unfortunately one of the most iconic set
pieces from the film the Rambo Bridge no longer exists
The bridge was removed in 2011 despite
protests from fans all that remains of
the original bridge is one singular
pillar sitting amongst the rocks

Approximately 15,000 people visit Hope
each year to remember and relive the

scenic locations from Rambo it's still
nice to see some of these iconic
locations and also just to enjoy the
scenery in this area it is a spectacular location

That place never gets old
It got old really fast for me. It's a nice place to visit you don't want to live there. Since I gave up hope I feel much better now

Love Hope. Although I now live in Australia, I grew up on Vancouver Island and have made quite literally hundreds of trips thru Hope over the years on my way to and from the Okanagan. I always make it a point of stopping in Hope on my way. I've thought that it was so cool that Hope was chosen for this classic movie location. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that Hope is as big of a star in the Movie as Rambo himself.
Totally agree - It gave the movie the right atmosphere to make the story believable as well as some stunning scenery :)
I love these filming location videos!
By the way, the helicopter from this movie is now located in the parking lot of Delta Force Paintball at the top of 224th St. in Maple Ridge

It's a classic! I was always fond of it because it was filmed an hour from where I grew up. Back then there wasn't as much filming in the area so it was a real event. The town of Hope has continued to draw tourists over thirty years later to see the town that Rambo blew up in First Blood!

Hope is a nice town with some great scenery - The Othello Tunnels are always worth a visit! I wish they could have kept the Rambo bridge, but I guess it would have been a hazard.

Watched Rambo for the first time today, it was so cool as I slowly realized I was familiar with the town it was filled in. I have a brother and sister who live in Hope and I visit them once and a while, cool that First Blood was filmed there.

I really enjoy going to "Rambo Days" in Hope. It's a "daze" in it's self🍻🥴 It's So much fun being at these events, that Hope puts out. Thanks Hope 👍

Cool video .. the motorcycle jump scene: the stuntman that jumped the police car broke his back in the jump.
Cool Trivia - The people who perform those stunts are amazing and they don't get enough credit for the work they do!

Thanks for the video, doubt I'll ever get to Hope, but Rambo is one off my favourite films. Great too see that 'gateway to holiday land' sign is still around. 🙂
Hope has changed a lot since the filming, but you can still find some recognizable locations :) They still love to celebrate the film and just unveiled a new chainsaw carved statue of Rambo. Just sad though that the Rambo bridge had to be taken down.

Good times! I don't want to brag but one time I won tickets to a Rambo marathon at the local theater and watched four films back to back!

I haven't seen the latest either! This was for the opening of "Rambo" in 2009!
Though filmed in Hope, BC, it was set in "Hope, Washington". In one scene, you can see a row of gas stations, and one sign seems to say 38.3 for "regular" (though I'm not sure). I guessing 38.3 cents per litre?
I have blanks and clips from the movie.
Some from the big gun when he was shooting up the bank.
Thank God that old bridge is gone now. It was dangerous crossing that.
No doubt they needed a replacement for traffic, but I would have liked to see the old bridge left standing for history.
@@ExitThrutheGiftShop I remember at the time. They were worried about the old bridge falling into the river. The old bridge was made with creosote lumber and would be bad for the spawning fish in the river.

Long time i see
First blood
Before they took out 2 of the 4 railroad tracks and redid the approach me and my friend Doug bermel jumped all 4 of those railroad tracks in my Chavette scooter
In the movie they used a rap to jump the tracs we never. Look closely at the bottom of the screen you can see the ramps
I'm sorry that was not the location location the gas station that they blew up In the 1st blood. I lived in hope when they filmed it I was part of the movie.
Where they filmed the gas station scene is under rubble due to a small landslide That took out the restaurant that used to be there
I may have had some incorrect info - Was following a locations map I found online. Could you let me know where is the correct location?
@@ExitThrutheGiftShop The overpass at the South end of hope it was about half a kilometer East of the overpassed where Restaurant used to be before it got destroyed in a landslide
You're off on the gas station. It's actual location in under the overpass footing just to the south. I was an old gas station site that they rebuilt a gas station on.

I grew up in Hope during that time. The gun shop blowup woke me out of my sleep as I was only 2 blocks away

@@ExitThrutheGiftShop ya Avery is hugging the statue on one episode. It’s kinda emotional to me at very end the song starts it really hertz me. I don’t know why. But u must watch Last Blood n get back to me.
