Croatia is great!!!… However keep in mind that August is the height of the tourist season so they’ll be tons of Europeans on vacation, more crowded, higher prices, cruise ships etc.… May and June are nice alternatives… Also September and October… Latter part of October the rains begin… have fun and good luck!!!
Just got back from 3 weeks in Eastern Europe in a van. Still paid peak prices in Croatia, however most of the time found campsites with no issue (I think two were full, but nearby sites were not). Perfect weather and not too many people so would recommend September!
Trent I totally agree that food photography is so much fun! To capture all the colors and taking that picture that almost makes you able to smell or taste a dish is amazing!

Dear Trenton&Allie, I`m from Croatia, so welcome !!! In all fairness comment about the date is accurate, there is so much road congestions, turists literally swarm in first two weeks in august, if you can change the dates for first two weeks in septembar when I and many other actually go to seaside. On another note I think Allie should drive more - for safety reasons primairly - it is very hard to take the wheel in crisis if you do not drive every day. I had the same problem with my ex boyfriend - he drove everywhere - but when something happens and you have to take the wheel it`s that much harder when you don`t have the practice.
Just Fabulous! No offense, but I love the fact that you guys are continuing the journey. I never got that feeling about your travel companions- not surprised that they have settled down. Best of luck to them. But, so excited for you all!!! Woohoo!!! I can’t wait to see what is next!
Croatia is a beautiful country. I was on a 10 day Cruise, after spending 3 days in Venice Italy 🇮🇹The first stop was in Croatia. Unfortunately shortly after our ship docked I had a medical emergency and ended up spending August 16 to 21ST in the hospital in Dubrovnik Croatia 🇭🇷. I was treated very well there. Would love to return to Croatia again someday, but need to learn to speak Croatian. August 2020 you and whoever joins you on your journey will have an amazing time. Safe travels and enjoy the journey.
It would be awesome to have your cookbook in a card catalog box form! Your snap shots in video sparked that idea. My wife and I love it when you have a cooking segment in your videos. 😁
Also, when you go to Croatia, you might think about going to a smaller village and see how they grow gardens on the rooftops of their houses to be self sustaining. I met a couple of their military officers while in Afghanistan and they showed some pictures of that and these awesome outdoor clay ovens for baking. I cannot remember what village they lived in. It would be neat to see some video and maybe some sourdough baking in one of those ovens.

I'm Dutch and living in Neuquén in northern Patagonia in Argentina together with my Argentine boyfriend and we're preparing a similar trip but then south to north all the way up to Alaska within the next 1-2 years.
