BMW X-3 2015 Collision Warning System Deactivated

This vehicle has a sensor malfunction which requires resetting the Collision Warning System thereby de-activating the Active Cruise Control. This occurs frequently the first start of the day, after resetting with a power down the sensor operates normally the rest of the day.

I can see it’s snowing out. Have you actually cleaned the sensor?

After many attempts by BMW to rectify this issue by replacing sensors we have given up. The system is just not capable of driving out a hilly driveway without upsetting the Collision system rendering it de-activated for around 10 minutes time. After 6 years we just live with it.
