This is such an awkward friendship but I absolutely adore them together. Like two people who can't really explain why they are drawn to each other, but it just works.
This man has to be my favourite 'human behind the actor'. Well spoken, humble, real and heck I love what he did to bond. I hope they keep it up becuase that last one, no spoilers, fuck it was refreshing. Go Daniel Creeaaaaeeeiiiggg :D
Stephen is so intelligent and talented that he’s not often genuinely star struck but I think Mr Craig has got him here! What do we have to do to get Stephen Colbert in a Knives Out film?!
Confused, I looked up Benoit and found out it meant blessed, then I wondered why Steven paused full stop and only after the interview, realized Steven kept cuing Daniel to start the Bone to pick over pronunciation bit. So funny! This is going to stick with me. :D

I was watching for the outpouring of hate for a white straight guy playing queer. But nothing. But if it was Denzel on the show about playing a North African, the internet would explode. Wonder why? 🤔
Nice, Daniel Craig ... I'm passingly familiar with the material, plus I'm now contractually obligated to have both a personality, and make love to Rachael Weiss or that bird from the mummy or mommy. Craig Daniel Craig, yeah we will need some id pal.
Although the chapters of Naked Lunch can be read in any order (and were randomly rearranged prior to publication) Burroughs' use of the cut-up technique in his own work doesn't really start until his subsequent book, The Soft Machine. It was also used in the collaborative book Minutes To Go that he contributed to in 1960.
after doing a queer James Bond scene (sacrilege!!!!) in Skyfall, he returns to do a gay movie. Don't mind him doing this, I DID mind him portraying James Bond that way. I'm not saying it's his fault, but James Bond's character has been eroding and transforming into a 'simple' action figure. It may not be 'right' in this 'no tolerance' era to play Bond like Connery or Moore played him, but that WAS how Bond is written, not like a Jason Bourne type.
As a Brit I have to say this guy's totally overrated. The worst bond ever. Mumbled and dialled in his performances. In fact, never seen him in anything decent.
I mean I watched "Naked Lunch" witch was enjoyable....but too put a movie with title "Queer" is a rather big gamble these days for theatrical release. That should have been a straight too stream video. Watching things on the small screen is no big deal for most mellinials and genZ as we have grown up watching most of our favourite movies on the small screen . I personally wish too "Queer " was the media a bit. As they are only 4% ....all the gay charters will be made women in any further agent lee adventures .
I already know you hear my second thoughts so I'm really in trouble and you force me insistently. Why? 🫠 I want to stay alone in this pushing case, please.
This is such an awkward friendship but I absolutely adore them together. Like two people who can't really explain why they are drawn to each other, but it just works.
Well said, exactly what I was thinking but couldn't properly articulate.
Love to see their chemistry as usual. And the English humour vs American humor is always fun 👏
And he ends the interview calling him Daniel Kreg and Daniel just looks down and smiles LOL
these two have such different vibes but it just works and i love it so much
daniel craig's smile shines the brightest on colbert's couch
He's so giggly in real life
It really does!😊

I’m so excited to see Daniel and Drew in Queer!
Great interview. I'd love to see Daniel Craig together with Patrick Steward. Maybe a Sherlock Holmes piece
Colbert for Knives Out!
I can really see him in an instalment now 😅
this movie was on a whole different level. very good! Luca also is a gifted director.
Said Daniel Kreg again at the end 😂 Ooh😏
Great actor and lovely person
That was best fun and awkward silences interview ever 😂😂😂👍
Stephen would play a heckuva pirate.
Daniel Craig's performance in Our Friends in the North outshined Christopher Eccleston's, and I've been hooked ever since.
Colbert said “Daniel Cregg” at the end there again 😅
LOL he did. And Daniel looked so disappointed. 😆
@@julianmark such a subtle resigned gesture
@@julianmark I saw it too. However, he held it together and gave a slight look of disappointment😅
That shared human moment ❤❤🎉
What a fun interview! 😂
"like a lot of young people, did you go through your beat poet phase?" 😂
...better than going through an Ayn Rand phase.
@3souris i feel attacked 😂
I’ve seen the best minds of my generation destroyed by it.
@3souris -- Done both. You are correct.
@@3souris I went through a minor Cyril Kornbluth phase, does that count?
He will always be Mr. Bond to me
Colbert was in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. He was excellent.
When? Can you share details?
@channarosenblatt8197 you can type it into a search engine It's called The Saint
It was called The Saint. I think season 3. James Bennett
@@KiloMintoni-kg4kn you are correct.
We turned the camera off a long time ago! Awww... I feel special!
Delightfully fun interview and name pronunciation guide.
I miss Burroughs.
Boyyyy I can't wait to see this movie!
He said Cregg at the end again without realising
Look at Daniel's face 😅
Stephen is so intelligent and talented that he’s not often genuinely star struck but I think Mr Craig has got him here! What do we have to do to get Stephen Colbert in a Knives Out film?!
I read the naked lunch and on the road when i was a teenager , didn't think much of them , preferred Sci-fi , still do.
Confused, I looked up Benoit and found out it meant blessed, then I wondered why Steven paused full stop and only after the interview, realized Steven kept cuing Daniel to start the Bone to pick over pronunciation bit. So funny! This is going to stick with me. :D
I read "Junkie" in 1970 when I was 14 years old LOL
As someone on IMDB said, does anyone think Daniel Craig looks like Sid James? He so does in this interview lol
“I’m Ben wa balls’s younger, more sprightly brother!”
I caught that, too. Fantastic!
❤❤love James Bond, actually i did not know his real name till i see this videos ❤😢😢
The true nature of light is colourless. But only when it accelerates and decelerates is you see 2 million.
Daniel Craig quirky did impress❤
Stephen Colbert as Benoist's younger brother. that could work
Video 2/2
@ColbertLateShow PLEASE number the videos of a guest.🙏
A) The videos are usually in the right order in the episode playlist and
B) The shorter video is almost always the last one
(Thus Far) Favourite Films of Craig's are The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Logan Lucky
Love Joy Peace 🌺🍃🌸🍃🌺🌱🌹✨✨✨✨✨✨💫
Danny Craig is a KIWI
Stephen you left out of your on screen curriculum vitae that you masterfully acted the spy in Lord Of The Rings. No small feat.
wasn't that the hobbit?
Poetry? Maybe Daniel Craig read some Sylvia Plath when he played Ted Hughes in "Sylvia"
Honestly Stevo, you should play the corpse....😂 And sorry Danno but shit gets dark sometimes before the light... But the light always comes...
Daniel Craig quirky did impressed
Almost no talk about queer? huh
👍👏
Burrows writing gave me the creepies.
Queer has to be better adapted than Naked Lunch -- it couldn't possibly be worse.
Stephan just said Danial cregg everybody
He really can’t say his name
He pronounced Craig's name correctly. What's your beef???
And the mispronunciation right at the end….oof - what a sport Daniel is!
I pretended to read "Junkie" too
F time does stop this guy was 007!!!
3:24 and 4:39 he said CREG again 🤦♂️
and then they said absolutely fuckall about the movie 😔😔😔
Considering a bit of deafness, it can be hard to hear the subtle differences in pronunciations. I know. 😉👍
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Ask him about the sgt rock
I’ve read junkie and naked lunch. Have yet too read the ticket that exploded and the soft machine.
Did I hear Stephen say that he was Benoit Balls?
Some one's a little drunk...

Quite a stretch to go from one of the most macho roles to a gay one. Good actor!
Burroughs was very macho. The two characteristics are not mutually exclusive.
@@GothamClive Right. I'm thinking more about macho and camp I guess. Just a flippant comment.
@@warren52nz No problem, but Burroughs hated flamboyant homosexuals. Therefore, not a stretch at all.
Something missing with this interview did you guys see that?😏
❤❤❤

Did he just call Craig Benwa Balls?
Why I've partied in many a bar basement at goth rock raves and I still can , why with new heart and livers ....the party rages ON!
Legend.
"kreg" v "cray-ig". I honestly don't really hear the difference.
i know excel😂😂😂
How enlighted, just not talking about the queer movie
😘
I'd rather have heard more about Queer than another installment of Knives Out. Dumb interview.

Could you imagine John Wayne or Charlton Heston ever playing a gay character? Craig is confident enough.
Naked Lunch is a cut up method of writing. Language is a virus. Won't watch this movie but.
Although the chapters of Naked Lunch can be read in any order (and were randomly rearranged prior to publication) Burroughs' use of the cut-up technique in his own work doesn't really start until his subsequent book, The Soft Machine. “I Didn’t Want To Mimic Him” - How Daniel Craig Portrayed William Burroughs' Avatar In "Queer"

looked a bit fidgety
@@christine-ep4bx The banter was just odd. With pauses. Stephens questions turned around on him.
