    90% public approval in the poll ... nice! The wording indicates (per Daryl R's recent article) a deal that barely involves tax payers footing the bill outside of through using services in and around the area.

    In their defense, NFL teams only use their stadium for like 10-11 times a year. It makes no sense for them to spend multi billions for few days. A dome could hold a number of events, bring in a lot of revenue to the city.

    How about this interesting concept.... have the city help fund the development of kids, able bodied unemployed/homeless into teaching them a trade, then provide that newly trained subsidized labor force to build the new stadium (obviously with master tradesman overseeing the work). Revenue stays in Cleveland, local people are taught trades that they can immediately (and long term) put to use, unemployment and homeless goes down, taxible revenue goes up, local trade companies get short term cheap labor (and they can chose who to retain), stadium gets built by subsidized labor... win, win, win

    • @ervinallen8418
      @ervinallen8418 2 месяца назад

      @ kcanniff1 I love your concept but down to earth solutions like yours seem to make too much sense and for some reason it won't be done! it's as if the powers that be don't wan't those type citizens to succeed because that may threaten the status quo or next thing you know they will get off the reservation and move next door to me! THIS is the SAD referendum AMERICA! that We have been tryin to avoid since before the Civil War Americans! Class, Race, Politics, Prejudice and FEAR are holding us back America all these things are in play if we allowed the poor unemployed and homeless to become stakeholders then we would be obligated to include them in the so-called Democratic process which would empower people that have historic differences and ideology from the current power structure.Sadly many folks caught in the debate will never get to attend a game regardless of the stadiums location! To me that is the saddest part of the debate people like myself a senior citizen may never be able to attend a Browns game in the Stadium Dome or not one thing I will never forget is attending an Indians game at Municipal Stadium in the '60's courtesy of the YMCA in my hometown and just knowing that I was in a building where my hero # 32 had done so much was so overwhelming the wind howled that day and the stadium creaked and growled they had shutters around the upper part of the stadium that rattled in the wind it made a frightened 10 yr old from a small town scared yet I appreciated the Men who put on the uniform even more Jim Brown. Leroy Kelly Paul Warfield, Lou "the toe" Groza, Frank Ryan, Gene Hickerson, Monte Clark, Dick Shackfrath, Ernie Green Walter "the Flea " Robinson I still remember I'm showing My age but Dammit I'm A Brown's Fan For Life and NO ONE can tell me different!

  • @TheCrownJewelOfTheJam

    It's not round, like most stadiums. Where is the "dome" part? Aren't domes supposed to be round? And there is way too much glass, when a massive snowstorm hits that area, and there's enough snow laying on that glass, that the weight of the snow begins to shatter it, then what. This looks more like a fancy concert venue than a stadium. But, it looks nice, but the glass worries me.

    Cool video.
    Yall are being manipulated.
    This will never be executed as displayed. As an architect I can tell you because I’ve seen how our industry uses media like this to sell you buildings and experiences that can’t be built. Look at the situation in Glendale, AZ. The ‘stadium village’ the cardinals built is SO dead the AZ Coyotes had to leave and play at ASU and the Cardinals couldn’t even sell out games when they went 11-5 a few years ago.
    We are going to end up with a warehouse with a translucent roof at best in a place where no one wants to go. (If anyone tells me you’d rather spend time and tailgate in Brook Park than downtown/muni lot, you’re full of crap).
    If they really cared about the fans they’d do this downtown. We all know they’ve got the money. This is a cheap ‘get rich(er) quick’ scam from Jimmy and the developers at the expense of the entire region and yall are falling for it.

    Well, here was what I gotta say about that stadium. I'm a long time. Cleveland Browns fan been a Cleveland Browns fan since I was 8 years old period I am 68 years old now period if you can't build a stadium, a dome stadium where the state admits right now, then don't build one at all period cause that's where that's where the stadium should be? That's how I'll ground for the people of Cleveland and for all Cleveland fans around the world period so you need to build a dome stadium, right? Where it is period if you have to knock that 1 down and build a new one, then go right ahead and do it, you're gonna have all? Off-season to build a stadium period and to build a dome on it period so you can take what you have there and just put a button it period what's the sense and building a all brand new one like that stupid? Looking one that you wanted it. Looks like it doesn't look like a football stadium period I don't like it. It doesn't look like a football stadium. It looks like a NASCAR racecar stadium period it's not set up like a football stadium at all. I've never seen one like this. I don't like the design of it. I don't like the way it looks. I don't care what anybody says. You build a stadium where the stadium is now period that's hollow ground period it's been there just. Beginning period there's no sense and finding another area in Cleveland where you can build a dumb looking stadium like that. Whoever designed that statement is one stupid a** Looks like a match box period yeah, a match box that's what it looks like a match box with a hole in it period it's one of the stupidest designs of a state I've ever received if you can't come up with a good design for a stadium Hey, I can make 1 up for you period build a dome stadium in and Cleveland with the retractable roof how does that sound period wouldn't take much money or how to do it, you already got a statement's present right there already period Knock it down side by side.Whatever you want to do, but build the dome stadium right there.With a retractable roof period that's what you need period
