Just finished this Rover-megathon. Appreciate it as I've only been an avid viewer since Oct 2022 and kinda missed these. Made my Saturday. Now I know how Hippo came about. Cheers Matt.
This series kept me sane during lockdown while I was shielding so good to revisit in full. Already 90 mins in and only feels like yesterday watching this. The Neutrodol you thought was a dehumidifier may have been a air freshener, remember these back in the day.
I remember the trials and tribulations of the coding the R8 via the drivers door lock. I remember getting it working in the end. The other issue I had was the cam (or crank) sensor. This made the car not start and was a pain. But all in all found memories of the R8. I'm sure once you get over this problem it'll be fine.
When I first started watching this video I thought this car was the kind of peach that had fallen off the tree, been nibbled by a goat, and finally been run over by the farmer. But after all that work… It’s actually a bit of a peach.
Enjoying seeing the beginning of Quentin’s build, I found your channel about half way through. Why did you store it in a random car park to begin with?
I remember watching this saga, you are a very patient man but this tested even your indefatigable patience! End result? A very desirable modern classic. It really should be worth a million pounds in terms of rarity and desirability. When I come to power I'll pass a by-law decreeing that old Rovers can only be sold for a million pounds minimum (a niche policy I know, but I'll balance it with a policy decreeing that all Audi drivers must wear a big pointy dunce hat... even in bed. Vote me people, for a better Britain 👍). I can hardly believe how little old Rovers fetch compared to old Fords. Bargain city.
He’s off for his MOT next weekend! He always puts a smile on my face when I drive him! 😎
Im so glad hes gone to a good home and is still being cared for, and good luck with the MOT!
@@furiousdrivingcheers! Hopefully less of a trauma than last year, he needed a new catalytic converter and O2 sensor to get through emissions!
I am really enjoying re-living these great builds!

As an ex Rover foundry quality engineer don't think I've ever heard any R8 variant 200 series called Quentin, makes it sound effeminate !!!
Like Quentin Tarantino
Long form vidoe. Wow, six and a laugh hours. It may take a couple of bites to get through this one. Gotta be dun thow.
So now you're recycling old videos?
