I have yotes traveling a roadway through my property. I set up and down that road on the sides in the center everywhere I see tracks but can't get them to come to any set. Even after I pull traps nothing comes to investigate any of the dirt holes or lures or anything. There's always fresh tracks. What am I missing.
A variation of your set on sign rule. Sometimes you have to make your own sign. In the Texas panhandle its pasture and ag, not a lot of timber. In January here , the coyotes are breeding.. I would bag coyote scat where I would find it and then make a flat set at the corner of farm road intersections or a point where Ag and pasture meet. My bait was one coyote turd and I would soak it with bought coyote urine. This time of year they are very curious about other coyote's scent marking their territory... or at least its my theory. It also works well on areas where coyotes are trap wary from other trappers. Just wondered what you thought. Love your blog.
I really like watching your videos they're very informative I've tried trapping for coyote before and was unsuccessful now I believe that I have enough confidence after watching your video that I can do it right with that that particular type of set it's it's really a good set man I mean you've taught me alot
Stu. I'm a hunter and a fisherman. I know coyotes are a nuisance animal and need to be kept under control. All I ask is that you dispatch the animal before filming your trap tips. It is one of God's creatures and deserves that respect. I appreciate all you do. Just respect the life you take
Stop be moralizing. This video is excellent. I think this guy has respect for the animals he kills - but on other side, coyote is no pet, it is just a wild nuissance animal. It has just a few minutes of stress because of doing the video - but cows feel stress much longer being slaughtered, for example... We cant treat all animals as pets.
Ummmm... Not everyone believes in Bronze and Iron age War Gods. I don't think it's a requirement for ethical trapping. He made the video like this, not because one of many Blood Gods commanded it, but because anyone can put a dead coyote in a trap and claim it got caught on such and such set but a live coyote in the jaws says it all. It's not gratuitous, what he's doing. Climb off that horse of yours, take a knee, and look down the trail and you'll notice the view changes.
@chuckward8650 Stu has more respect for animals then tormenting them I know I’m two years late responding but I’ve watched this video a dozen times and it’s perfect
I heard you say a little about scent control I'm new at trapping and set some in the area where I was seeing fox and I seen a pawprint in the dirt close to my set but he didn't work the set hard enough to get caught do you think I'm leaving too much scent there? What do you think it is?
I'm just getting in to this and thank you for your video. What to you use for bait to get them to the traps and where are good places to put traps at in the woods?
Are you sure that its coyote digging up the sets. I put trail cameras on my sets and found it was skunks. Contaminated dirt from the remakes is what my fault was.
Pretty good video!! I love that air rifle. What model is it?? I have the Airforce Condor SS .25. Super accurate, very powerful and pretty quiet. Thinking about some custom parts for mine. Hopefully will be pushing out over 105 foot pounds of energy.
Definitely like seeing the catch as well as the set. Just finished fleshing and stretching my first critter. Your videos really helped. Thanks from Nebraska
Stu, I checked my work line yesterday morning & 2 of my DP's had ALL food gone but the traps didn't fire. We haven't had rain in over a week & temps we're in low 30's. Any idea what happened? I have never seen DP'S completely empty with out a critter in it
Love the video, but really would like to know more on that air gun coon creek, does it put those yotes down pretty good? And do you just put it right between the eyes, ears?
Great video again. Learning a lot from you for my first season trapping. Could you do a video on dispatch gun and location with no blood. I am getting a lot of blood with my sub sonic .22s when dispatching.
Stu , Thanks for all you do. I live in a residential area and have many arborvitaes that squirrels love to eat. I have tried everything, but they come back the next year. I loathe Squirrels! NW Indiana. Don’t sweat the negative comments, ultimately you have the final dispatch decision. What if somebody’s pet is in the trap?
I don't hunt or trap but, watching guys like you apply your knowledge on video is interesting. I also watch a guy in Canada and he uses snares. One in particular is called a "Power Ram". He uses huge piles of bait as lure and describes the many trails. Thanks.
Couple years trapping dps for coons. Got 3 dbl coil traps this year. I kneel on a corn sack inside a corn sack. It folds, it rolls, it weighs nothing. Sharing from my vast storehouse of ignorance. 👊
Cool! I got some catching up to do on your videos. Was off of work for a couple weeks and was busy deer hunting and moving into our new house, but I'll go back and watch what a missed. How did you dispatch the coyote? Did you use that air rifle or something else?
Nice seeing others use airguns as well. First video I've seen of yours and I enjoyed it! I'll check your channel out! What cal airforce airgun is that? Looks like a talon or a condor. Those are some very powerful adult airguns. I shoot mostly crosman and Benjamin products. I have a 357 bulldog making close to 300fpe I use hog hunting!
Maybe a little off topic of this video but i have a question on skunk. Are the dog proofs the best traps to use for them or are small foot holds like say a 1 1/2 the best? Thanks in advance
You're a master baiter son.
lol
Best RUclipsr
Agreed
Awesome job! Keep up the full circle videos. They are great for veteran and new trappers. Thank for all your work from PA

Well i gave the step down dirt hole set a try for the first time and got a nice red fox first night thanks for the videos and please keep them coming
Enjoyed the video and have a set of the Duke's pro series 550s on the way. South Carolina here and cant wait to start trapping
Do you make your own bait? If so, what does it consist of? Just bought my first set of traps. Thanks.
Can you please tell me what you are using to finish off the coyote?
What pan tension do you normally? Your full circle set is great. It really shows what works and what doesn't for you. No bs tactics

This trapper has total respect for the critters , it’s how it is ? No bleeding heart

Do you carry your traps in a different container when going to set out a line?
Great set up and great job of explaining everything
Awesome videos you do one hell of a job. Great work thank you for putting these out.
I'm just getting in to this and thank you for your video. What to you use for bait to get them to the traps and where are good places to put traps at in the woods?
So what do you do with the coyote? Please explain. Thanks Andybl
Thumbnail goes hard✅💯
I love the full circle videos. It’s the whole story. Great stuff may wish to put the full circle all in the same video. 👍👍😎
Can you talk about the dispatching shot? Ear hole? Eye? Is a lung/heart shot ok if you want to keep the skull? What’s a proper caliber?
Very helpful thank you. Seeing it in full circle goes a long way
Thanks Stu
Trapped when I was a kid, it was a great adventure and we made a few bucks.
Nice song dog nice to see your teaching experience you have gained thank you
Thanks pal. I’ve been havin trouble with coyotes digging up traps.
Are you sure that its coyote digging up the sets. I put trail cameras on my sets and found it was skunks. Contaminated dirt from the remakes is what my fault was.
@@timothyrothrock4173 I didn’t see any skunk tracks around them, so I just assumed it was coyotes.
A feed sack works great for a kneeling pad and a spare is always folded up waiting for me to loose the one I'm using. Great videos as always.

Awesome content. Do you have a video of how you make your wax dirt?
Amazing that you have a job and still are able to create such entertaining videos. Good job as always.
How far back from the bait hole do you have the trap pan ?
Set on sign !! 👍 If they ain't there the set doesn't matter. Nice video !!!
Shhhhhhh....less talky, more worky! Lol
With bad weather out of play how often are you freshening up on lure
Its awesome seeing all the support for trappers.
Consider using a game cam to video the catch and direction of travel?
Definitely like seeing the catch as well as the set. Just finished fleshing and stretching my first critter. Your videos really helped. Thanks from Nebraska
I’m new to trapping and I was wandering were u shoot ur coyotes and bobcats to keep from Messing up the hide thanks #cooncreekoutdoors

Must have been duke traps

got a 21 pound racoon one time at grandma's house best BBQ i ever ate God bless that woman real down home cooking north Carolina style
What size trap is best for coyotes.
Do you eat your catches or do you just trap for pelts?
Thanks for showing the catches!!!!
Great set and another good catch Stu. What do you like about the air force vs rim fire other than noise?
What do you do with the coyote after you kill it? I don’t think there is hole lo5 of people that eat them.

Does this set work well in snow covered fields?
You are not alone on this planet!

Are the Duke #3's ready to go or do you have to tweak anything to make them work the best? Thanks in advance.
Do u use any scents on your flat sets?
thanks for yet another great video. I always enjoy watching and learning from you.
What are using for bait?
Learned so much from watching you... keep it up as always awesome videos
Cool! I got some catching up to do on your videos. Was off of work for a couple weeks and was busy deer hunting and moving into our new house, but I'll go back and watch what a missed. How did you dispatch the coyote? Did you use that air rifle or something else?
How did you make the coyote calm down and lay still after he was trying so hard to pull away from you on the trap?
He shot it in the head.
Would be awesome to show how u pull sets cause my finned super stakes won’t ever come out
What’s your take on fleas? Do you worry about them or not really?
Nice seeing others use airguns as well. First video I've seen of yours and I enjoyed it! I'll check your channel out! What cal airforce airgun is that? Looks like a talon or a condor. Proof in the pudding Stu! Great work!

Hey man love your videos
Very enjoyable
I have a separate set of tools in a bag just for remakes. Gloves, sifter, etc. It really has made a big difference.
Very cool! Thanks for the instructive video!
Hell yes! Full circle videos are the best!
Start to finish in prep and ended in a trapped coyote! Now lets see this yote on the board!
