Based on that specific question I can give 1 specific reason for picking Ryu over Akuma. Ready? Akuma isn't out yet in sf6, so you'll end up forfeiting the game while trying to choose nonexistent character.
Guile is a different character type so we are mostly comparing Luke, Ken and Ryu. In terms of general character strength there is little reason to use Ryu over the other two as they are higher tier. That being said he does have some advantages. Ken and Ryu in particular have enough differences. Ryu has better overhead mix due to his overhead being a normal and is DR to make it give a combo while can at best can level 2 off a ex jinrai or level 3. Ryu has the safest poke into fireball of the three. Light hadoken after cr.mk is 0 when spaced while St.HP to fireball is +1 and has no gap. Ken's fireballs off pokes tend to be negative or punishable. Luke fireball can be +1 from St.Hp into h sandblast but it has a gap, it recovers in time to beat DI but can be perfect parried or reversaled through. There are other things like Ryu's tatsu being projectile invincible while Ken's is not and Luke has to spend meter on his command dash.
To use Honda, you need to avoid patterns and to spam sumo Headbutt and Slam.
