If you are having the same problem as I was then look at the scale assistant little white triangle and click on it and , " tarrah " , all is revealed .

This looks great. There is no key of A# Major though. I wish these softwares would take this into account as what tends to happen is students then come to music theory class having used the software and are confused. Thanks for the video, looks like a great tool. I'm thinking of switching to Cubase from DP.
You have two options under (Editor Scale) First one to select the Root key the second to select the Scale so you can choose any scale from any Key! If you want to add a custom scale.... Cubase allows you to do that by select "Set up Musical scales" then you can add your custom scale from there.
Scale assistant is activated, Snap is also activated, but he transpose the notes wherever he want and ignores the scale. All those in Cubase 13.)) But only as I activated the tab with chords and used it a little bit, it began to work.
Nice Doubling with a third above! But I have one idea for a better colouring : Choose the right key in the chord-track and then change the colour of the notes to CHORD-TRACK ( the right key/scale!) Then you see all the notes in the right scale in green. (but you can choose the colour individually if you don't like this setting ) The multi colours choosen in the video are not the best choice... Or WHAT DO YOU THINK? SLASHGAD 🌈
If you start off in the minor let’s say G minor and you move to C major what is going to keep the two-part harmony respectful of the minor scale moving to a major scale?
In my cubase 12 when duplicate file variaudio has changes it is automatically changes the original track variaudio... How to reset to have the original setting back...

I don't know if you found this a few months later, but there's a button called acoustic feedback. It looks like a speaker with sound coming out in the front and back of it that's on the toolbar section of the editing window.
Hi, I've been searching high and low for an example like this. Great. However, the reason that I was looking is to find out what the colour relationship in variaudio segment colours is? In chord track mode the colours are simple. Red is out of tune, Green is in the chord and light blue is in the key of the piece So in pitch mode, it's not the case. I saw in your video there are dark blue, light, and dark brown. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it's probably something like the first, second, and third notes of the scale and so on. So which is which? How do the colours relate to the pitch? Please answer as I've been searching for hours...........

When you have a duplicate of a original song track (3:00) and change it in Vari Audio, do you first have to save the original song track and import it as a new song track? I think you need to select your duplicate and change to “ real copy or copies” - for the future you may want to change your preferences to not create “shared copies” when duplicating.
@@STONE1888 I think my comment was deleted because I added a link, but there isn't one. I was thinking there was because I never have to change it, but then I remembered I use MIDI mostly. You will have to keep manually changing the audio to a real copy.
Hi Dom, love your videos. I am Cubase Elements 12 user and there is no way to find how to create harmonies with it. I can only find the pitch corrector but it does not work for harmonies when trying to do a 3rd and 5th. When I purchased the software I thought it was possible but now I am at the end of my research, not finding help, which is why I would really appreciate every kind of tip you could give me. Hi Dom, does VariAudio follow the Hermode Tuning settings? Does it rely on referencing a midi track to work? I'm editing polyphonic vocal music-with each voice on its own track-and while I would love to be able to tune to different temperaments-which, as far as I understand, is not possible with VariAudio-Hermode tuning is the next best option to get that special flavour in the fifths and thirds. I haven't been able to manually achieve what I want with the Quantize Pitch node because it only enables quantization by percentage. I would love to have the flexibility to manually fine tune the note up or down, rather than in one direction only. Can you shed some light on the relationship between Hermode Tuning and VariAudio?

I solved it! there's a tab that comes up asking you either to continue, new version or cancel. You need to select new version so you can work on the tracks individually. Nothing to do with preferences

You should create a new version of your audio clip You can convert a shared copy to a real copy by selecting “Convert to Real Copy” from the Functions submenu on the Edit menu. This creates a new version of the clip (that can be edited independently) and adds this to the Pool.
A# major does not exist theoretically you should really correct it to B-flat major with the relative minor being G minor. Your videos are absolutely superb and I do subscribe having been a professional ranger since 1968.
Like so many of these sorts of video, lots on what you can do, not so much on exactly how to. If you know your way around the program, then you don't really need the video. If you are less familiar, then all sorts of principal steps are glossed over.
nooooo please!!! G minor relative to A# major no no no no.....that's relative of B flat major! even on the piano could be same keys speaking of harmony is a huge error, mostly because the key of A# major doesn'exist! if you think 5th circle, major keys with # are G, D, A, E, B, F#, C#.....A# can't be possible because music grammar doesn't allow double sharps or double bb into clef, so de facto it doesn't exist, you can use either C# major or Dd major but some keys cannot be used at all, e.g G# or A# major, you'll use Ab or Bb major instead.
Sorry this is killing me. The relative major of G min is not A#. It's B flat major. Whew. OK, please continue. And for those that don't know, the relative minor of A# major is F## (double sharp). I know...semantics.

Please don't quantize individual pitches. You'll take all the natural nuances out of the vocal performance. Too bad they didn't use this tool on Beauty & The Beast. Emma Watson's voice would have sounded much more natural instead the autotuned, digital mess they released.

Warning: Cubase 12 is not gettin all shortcuts, preferences, templates or anything from Cubase 11, and once you install cubase 12 you can NOT open cubase 11.
Cubase 12 imported all settings, templates etc on first launch for me, even recent projects in the Hub. This is strange! Also Cubase 11 and 12 use different license system, on the e- licenser you will have the Cubase 11 license, instead on Steinberg Activation Manager you have 12. Just tried and I perfectly opened both Cubase 11 and 12
This is false. Cubase 11 and 12 run perfectly side by side on my end. I just copied key commands preset folder from 11 to 12 and all key commands from 11 work on 12.

I work with Orchestras. And often they play in 443Hz. Is VariAudio finally able to be set to a different chamber pitch than 440Hz???

With your current settings, you must convert the duplicated event to a separate event
Edit>Audio>Convert to Real Copy
