I suspect that thing the game is missing must lie in the weapon upgrades. All the upgrades seem to just make the weapon better at what it already does. If they would implement mods that affected the way the weapon plays like changing the damage type, altering the firing pattern, adding "on hit" and "on kill" effects, etc. they could make levelling up your weapons more fun. Maybe even something wild inspired by Duo Boons from Hades like "if you have this weapon and this other weapon you can Voltron them together into a special weapon that has the benefits of both and you clear a weapon slot so you can pick up another weapon later".
Those, uh, modifier drops? that add percentages like kill at enemy health, they should have a more visual effect. Great content. If it's not music on my study time, it's you guys playing rogue likes trying to explain the niche mechanics.
No offense, I watch a lot of your videos. I've never seen a run yet where the Boomtraps didn't do over 100m damage and yours somehow made it to low damage of all weapons. Alas it felt like the entire run was working against you. No way in heck Boomtraps should have done less damage than the Frog.

Maybe something wasn't working right because the Frog did 10 times the damage of Boomtraps 😂 Either way a win is a win
