    I am sooo excited...almost like I purchased this puzzle with you, LOL! You have shown the world that a 33K-piece+ puzzle CAN be done in a small space, of course, needing not to mix more than 2 bags if you don't want to switch a lot of poster boards that is!

    Something to be aware of if you plan to mix bags. Unless it has changed in the latest release, each section is made of 4 repeating cuts which means that for every location in a section there are 4 pieces that will fit perfectly in terms of shape. So, if you mix 2 bags you will end up with 8 identically shaped pieces for each location. Usually the image is different enough that you can tell whether or not the piece is correct but by mixing bags this may become a little more difficult. Whatever you decide to do, I think this will be quite an achievement. Cheers!

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  2 года назад +2

      Hiya! Yes, I have heard that as well. As far as I know, I don’t think the cut has changed. Hopefully I can differentiate using the image, but I’ll see. It occurs to me that I don’t necessarily have to mix the bags up. That was really to facilitate not having to do 10 videos, but maybe 6 instead, but there’s no reason that I can’t just do one section after another in the same video I suppose. Not sure yet, I might still mix a couple. Anyway, thank you for the info, and for watching the video 😃

    Hi Vicky
    I just bought this one. I bought the 24000 piece Life one at the same time and have sorted the first bag of that and will do that puzzle first. Tonight I thought I would open the crate and check out the bags. I'm so glad I saw your video of unboxing and know that the numbering system is....well...bad. To add to my confusion, I have one bag that is not stamped at all. Luckily, the missing number sits between two of the mid range numbers, so at least I can assign a number to it. It does seem as though the second highest number is actually panel 1. I will need to have a better look at the bags in the daylight to figure out their positions in the puzzle. Thanks for your detailed explanations though as they do greatly help.

    This puzzle is so gorgeous. I am looking forward to seeing you build it and if you do smaller puzzles in between as well. Every time I see you with a giant puzzle, I so want to try one. Probably not 33K pieces though. I just need to strategize how I would do a large puzzle and not disrupt my house. I have a firm rule that the dining room table is for eating only. My other table/ desk is my work from home space which I need for the Hybrid schedule days at home. Normally I puzzle on a puzzle board which I love and keeps puzzling in one place. I have a feeling that a large puzzle is inevitable. I keep getting sucked down the rabbit hole. I look forward to your next video and wish you a wonderful week! ❤️🧩

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  2 года назад

      Thanks! 😍 I will definitely intersperse these videos with other more ‘normal’ sized puzzles 😆 I would always say go for it with the larger puzzles, but I do understand it takes a bit of planning to figure out the logistics of building them! You could work your way up to a big one in steps, 2000, 3000, 4000 pieces etc. Maybe a 5000 piece would be good even? Remember as well that some puzzles come in manageable sized sections - the Disney Orchestra for example comes in 2200 piece sections. 😃 I would like to try and get a board big enough for my 5k puzzles - it would be lovely to film the whole thing coming together for once rather than in sections as I have to build the 6k and larger ones. Well, make sure you let me know if you ever do decide to give one a go - I will cheer you on 😃 Thank you, as always, for watching and a wonderful week to you as well x

    The box is ironically the weakest part of this puzzle. I bought it this summer and it took me 3 attempts. The first box I couldn't lift upright because it would have busted open, second one arrived completely shattered and at that point i gave up and returned it. But a month later the price of the puzzle went even lower and at that point i was like, come what may with the box, I'm keeping it and I'll store it in a different box if i have to, but thankfully, third time was indeed the charm and the box is perfect.

    Nice puzzle. I was surprised to se, in regards to directions for missing pieces, that they also included a text in Norwegian, my language. Ordinarily international products only includes text of countries within the EU, and other world-languages. Thus it is seldom to see text on such products in Norwegian. I usually have to read those kinds of text in Swedish, Danish, or English. Looking forwards to your videoes on this puzzle, especially after Karen Puzzles did her Educa Life puzzle. Being a bit colorblind I do not think I will be getting this puzzle, as I do not see to well into the green spectrum of colors I think. But I would like to do it for the animals in the puzzle, if I did not have to do all the green parts. But I would most certainly not mix any of the bags. Though I at times like a challenge, that is not a challenge I would take upon myself.

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  2 года назад +1

      Hi! Thank you 😃 that’s cool that your language was included, there are so many different languages on the box, that it takes up quite a lot of space, but it’s good that Norwegian was on there too. I watched Karen’s Life puzzle as well - it was great, such a beautiful puzzle 😃! I agree, the animals really make this puzzle for me as well, there are so many! I bet I’ll be spotting new animals on the image every other minute as I build it 😆. Well, I’m definitely intimidated by all the green too - I’m still not entirely sold on mixing the bags yet, I may just do it once or perhaps twice, I just didn’t want there to be 10 individual videos on this, I thought 6 would be better, but there is no reason that I can’t do two sections separately, in one video, I suppose! We’ll see. Part 1 will definitely be a single section though 😍

    The best kitty sighting was at 31:43.
    I have this puzzle. I've finished the 10th (rightmost) section, but before I put it away, I'll build the 9th section onto it. Then I'll remove the 10th and build the 8th onto the 9th and so on. Each section will be broken into 14ths and stored in cardboard envelopes. When I'm done I will have 140 envelopes, each with a 240-piece rectangular chunk. Maybe they will fit in the original box. Nowhere to assemble for the time being.

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  2 года назад

      Hi! I couldn’t even see a kitty sighting at that time, where was he? 😻 he he! He wanders about all over the place, sometimes you just see the tip of a tail going past behind me 😆 I see, that’s a good plan, I like that you are building onto the previous section before you put it away. I think I’ll use the edge of the previous section as a starting point, but I won’t build on to the whole section. I also really like your cardboard envelope storage idea - I was just going to tape it in chunks that lay flat in the box 😃 in terms of final assembly, I usually take to a hall to take pictures. I would love to wall mount it eventually, but I’m not in a permanent abode just now, so I’ll wait until I’m in my forever home before I look into that - I can’t wait to start it though - well done on completing the right hand section, and thank you so much for watching! 😃

      @@Vickymakesandbuilds Reflection in the shelving. Almost creepy, but nah, since we _were_ introduced properly.
      I will tape later. When taping a chunk, all adjacent chunks should be attached so that the fit is guaranteed and you're not taping anything out of shape. Same goes for glue, if you go that route.
      I used to put such large puzzles up in my classroom (8000 to 18000) but I retired and am now without a gallery. My 24000-piece Life is under the bed in 24 parts and has not seen the world. Its reality is merely shadows on the back wall. Sad.

    I can only imagine their production machine prints or cuts from right to left and so the numbering is purely a sequential system as the pieces are bagged up. EDUCA Life was the same right to left numbering. Even though its weird, all they really had to supply somewhere was an indication that this is how they do it. Oh well, thanks to your video, anybody reading this knows now, have fun, I just completed Life and look forward to starting this when the weather gets colder....

      @@Vickymakesandbuilds Hi, your video inspired me to start this epic puzzle. According to what I thought was the numbering system I opened the highest numbered bag thinking it would be the far left. Couple of hours later I realised I had not sorted out any longer side edge pieces, just top and bottom! So I opened the next highest numbered bag and did an jnitial sort on that and found this one was the far left and had three edges. The bag I opened is the next section and fits perfectly to the far left edges. Now I'm confused and a little worried about what I have in the other 8 bags. Have I got a complete puzzle? Have you encountered anything like this?? Any help/reassurance greatly appreciated. Neil

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  2 года назад +1

      Hiya! This is very odd isn’t it? So I gather with Educa that they have confusing bag numbering systems, that’s from what I’ve seen on RUclips, and heard from people that I have spoken to about it. I thought that it went from highest to lowest number going from left to right and the few pieces I saw seemed to suggest that, one of the numbers (either the highest or lowest) definitely had corner pieces so I assumed that’s how it went. Honestly I didn’t look too hard at the middle bags so I can’t be 100% sure. Strangely enough, someone else has messaged me about this recently too. He believes that his bags are randomly numbered and seem to go in a random order from left to right. I am definitely going to have another look at my bags and the pieces to check this out. I am moving on Tuesday, but once that has happened I will give it a look and get back to you. Maybe it’s different for every puzzle! I have only done the one Educa and it was in one bag so I haven’t come across this before - it is extremely odd! Leave it with me, I’ll get back to you. Vicky 😊

      @@Vickymakesandbuilds Thanks for the reply. My lowest number bag has the other edge and corners so that is the far right of the puzzle as expected. LIFE was numbered highest to lowest, left to right. Hope it's not random as I slightly cheat by using the right edge of the previous completed section as a 'free' edge on the next section. Hope the move goes well. Cheers

      Hiya, apologies that this is a late response. I just opened one of my Wildlife bags yesterday and have found the same thing as you to be the case with the numbering. I saw a corner piece in the lowest numbered bag and naturally assumed the highest numbered bag would be the other end. Not so! I opened up the highest numbered bag only to discover that it was section 2. Another person on Facebook messaged me saying the same thing. His numbering system had the highest number as section 2 as well! The next highest number down for him was the left end - as with you, and his lowest number was the right hand end, as with me. On the strength of this, I am willing to bet that my next to highest numbered bag will be the left end. It seems like the puzzle is complete and all fine, but just really randomly and confusingly labelled. What seems more odd though is that the randomness of the labelling appears to be the same for at least 3 of the puzzles that are out there. Bizarre!

      Hiya Russell, yes it will definitely fill my time 😃 I’m not entirely sure yet, but off the top of my head I’m thinking I’ll start the first 3k piece section at the end of June 😍 when will you do yours do you think?

    it's called Educa :)) Education Theywant you yo think and figure their system out first :) Why simple when it can be made difficult and challenging :)) The motto of a whole continent caled South America :))

      🤣🤣🤣 that made me chuckle! Indeed, why be simple, why not make the bag system a puzzle too…as if 33k pieces wasn’t enough of a puzzle! 😍

    Next stop: Educa 'Around The World'. 42000 pieces. Says me, still pondering as to whether to get this Wildlife jigsaw! The only off-putter is the unnecessary wooden crate, which will have skyrocketed the P&P.

      🤣🤣 ha ha! I can’t even think about the next biggest one until I’ve done this one! Having said that, I wouldn’t mind having a go at one of the Ravensburger 40k puzzles though 😆 honestly I’m kind of with you on the crate thing, it’s very nice and impressive, but it really does boost the postage, especially to those who have to have it shipped from the other side of the world! I hope you get it figured out soon - thanks for watching! 😍

    One the first bag you said: 001835 but I thought I saw 001834....am I wrong?....28:12

      Well spotted! 😃 Yes, I snapped a close up pic of the numbers on a random bag, but then I hadn’t checked if it was the same number as the one I was saying in the recording. By the time I realised I had said the wrong number, I had already put all the bags away so I just left it and tried not to worry 😆 thank you for watching 😍

    At the cost of this puzzle you think they’d put the pieces in resealable bags.

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, and also label the bags properly! All the large puzzles I’ve ever done so far, irrespective of brand, have not had resealable bags. So I guess it’s the norm!

    I really like your videos but it is a bit difficult to listen to you when every second word is "ehm", "äh" and please look in the camera.

      I’m glad you like my videos. Thank you for your constructive feedback - I’ve been working a lot on the ehm and ahs since this video. In terms of looking at the camera, I thought I was, but it’s possible I was focussed a little too much on the view finder 🤔
