(Free Method) Transfer WhatsApp Chats from iPhone to Android. WhatsApp has now rolled out this feature for those looking to transfer WhatsApp data from iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Similarly Android to iPhone WhatsApp transfers are not possible yet, however WhatsApp says it will be expanding this feature and support Android to iOS transfers in the future.
Requirements For Transfer WhatsApp Data From iPhone to Samsung Galaxy phone:
1. WhatsApp for iPhone version 2.21.160.17 or later.
2. WhatsApp for Android version 2.21.16.20 or later.
3. Samsung phone with Android 10 and Smart Switch 3.7.22.1.
4.Your SIM card inserted in your Galaxy device.
5. New Samsung Galaxy device to be brand new or has been factory reset.
6.A USB-C to Lightning Cable (included in the box with newer iPhones).

There is a fault in this video in the last step when you try to verify your number in the Android phone it has to send a code to the iPhone which cannot be received without canceling the transfer screen in the iPhone :(
After using iPhone 12 more than 1 year I realised android is much better except camera quality

Biggest advice when doing this. make sure that whatsapp is not already dled on the phone. It has to be uninstalled before processing on the android. The smart switch would dl the app once it goes through the process.

I cant thank you enough. I cannot believe that there is no video like this on the whatsapp FAQ. Btw, for this to work, you cannot have Whatsapp already installed on your Android. If you have already download it, delete it. Doing so, you can follow the steps described in the video and everything will work.
Amazing. I don't think its humanly possible to do this without watching this and following these steps to the t. Takes a long time, so if someone is trying to do this, make sure both your phones are at 100% charge.

at 2.00, Select Data to Transfer "Apps" is not listed. There is only contact, images, videos and two other less important thing. What to do?
This trick worked the 2nd time i tried. Not the entire chat was transferred but 90% of it was transferred.
Its correct that you when transferring chats from iPhone.. you have to uninstall the app in your Android phone then it works almost perfectly.
Just follow step by step process shown in the video. You will succeed.
Worked like a charm.. Failed few times coz battery was low. Charge both phones above 80% if you are facing issues .

Thanks a lot! I was about to give up. Thanks to Zain Jahangir too from another video, who explained that you MUST update "data restore tool" app in order to get the QR code prompt. Nowhere Whatsapp nor Samsung indicate that!
Here a few steps (iPhone 8 to Samsung s9+):
1) your sim card in your iPhone
2) factory reset your Samsung (android 10+)
3) download Smart Switch but don't back up anything
4) log in your Google account
5) now, go to Play Store, tap "data restore tool" and update this app (do not install Whatsapp).
6) now connect your 2 phones, as shown in the video (select both Whatsapp and data from iPhone apps), and make sure you see the QR code thing (in the list of apps). If you don't see it, don't go further, it's useless!
The rest is in the video!
You only have to switch your sim card when the Smart Switch process is complete.
You CAN put your sim card in your Samsung before activating Whatsapp in your Samsung. It worked.
You can let your 2 phones connected during the whole process, it doesn't seem to matter.

Just MAKE SURE you have WhatsApp uninstalled on your Android phone, but installed on your iPhone.

important facts,
1).you need to unstall whatsapp from your android device first.
2).Then update the data restoration tool and smart switch apps.
3).Then update whatsapp in both devices.

It doesn't work! Whatsapp is uninstalled as said on Android. I connected cable and did the transfer on iphone but there's no pop up showing up on Android . Pls help!!!
The tricky part is that you need to uninstall Whatsapp from the Android phone.

Successfully transferred chat history into my Android phone (Galaxy Z Fold 5) from an iPhone 13. This method is really working but it took me around 2 hours to transfer including configuring both phones.
BTW, USB-C to Lightning cable included in the box (iPhone 13) refuse to connect to my Galaxy Fold. I have to use USB-C to USB-A and 3rd party cable USB-A to Lightning to make it work.

I have been trying to do this to no avail. It keeps telling me that there's not enough storage space and won't proceed. I'm not sure what else I can do at this point. One thing to add here is …..at your step @ 3.26 min ….you have to wait for android to process or organise the downloaded data.
This took me almost 30 mins as the chat backup size was about 3 gb
It shows up in the notification list
I tried to register WhatsApp a few times before it completed and got blocked for 48 hts

Hello, you need to press transfer button. then they will show the apps installed in your phone. you can then select/unselect apps you like.

@@ronityadav670 Hi, I had the same problem. First time when I did it, they showed tthe apps after clicking transfer. But later on they search and say "no apps found" refresh or skip. I tried factory reset but nothing helped. Today, I connected the iphone to another samsung phone and tried to check if the apps are shown or not. It worked fine on other phone. Then I tried on my primary phone. Now it is working. Apps are shown and we can transfer.
After completing the transferring process, I didn't get the import window on my new Samsung phone due to which my data transfer couldn't be successful..could you please help?

don't do it ! i litterally wasted all day all day doing this backup it didn't work , i followed every steps, after i inserted the number said to connect google i did it and then opened whatsapp and nothing happend , only the groups chat was still open nothig else... waste of time , for me more then 10 hours

After many tries, I couldn't get it to work, but after following the instructions step-by-step and got to each screen (as shown in the video), this successfully imported chat from old iphone.
One thing that didn't work was that whatsapp didn't install, so had to find this on the google play store. Although, I still verified phone number and imported chat in the end as shown.
