I am very glad to see you in the north of my country (Spain), you have been on the north coast that I love so much. very grateful for the videos that inspire me so much, thank you Adam.
I did a three week campervan trip around Northern Spain last month Adam and your video was a tremeduous help in my pre trip research - and even gave me the nudge to start my own channel! Thanks for continuing to inspire!
I shall have to visit up there with the wife at some point. We have sand beaches here on the eastern coast looking into the med, and not a single pebble or stone to be seen. ☹
Adam, just spectacular photography. I will watch this over and over again when I need calming down! This area is very much like Montana Del Oro in California.
Really fantastic video. That black and white image turns out really fantastic. The light that you got at the end was pure magic! Such wonderful locations in north Spain, I very much hope to visit some day soon myself. Cheers
Such a joy to watch as always. I really love the fact you open my eyes to new styles all the time. The possibilities are endless! Thanks for the inspiration.
Just another wonderful series of photos accompanied by an in-depth explanation of what you see and your process...valuable insight for your viewers. What a magical area to explore, consider yourself to be one of the fortunate few.
Beg to differ Adam as to the image with the faster shutter speed. I personally much prefer the distinct water. There's an ingrained energy to the shot which is palpable. It to me is the kind of shot that make you immediately think, "Boy, I wish I was there."
There are so many beautiful places in the world. Spain is stunning or your vision of Spain is stunning. Some day I hope to be able to go on a workshop!!
Stunning, amazing…? Not sure what adjectives to use as your images of this area certainly did it justice in my opinion! Would absolutely love to hit your next workshop there…only if you could promise the same light???
Awesome video and images. I love the opening drone shot. It is die for. The image towards the end of the 16X9 sunlit sea stacks is incredible. Nice work Mr. Gibbs.
Lot of great options there! Reminds me of a beach I frequented in San Diego while I was there. Love the reflected light in the scene at 5:20. The variation in rocks though really makes for infinite interesting subjects!
Adam, some lovely images there, but your monochrome image of the sea stacks is simply beautiful - my favourite. Too often colour is a distraction and this is a great example. I shot colour for years without ever trying monochrome, before discovering the joy of black and white and more recently partial colour.
Love those sand patterns and streams. Such a beautiful peaceful scene. Reminds me of some of the Oregon beaches. Rocks were pretty neat too. Looks like a great trip.
Love the cave pictures! Have you taken any at Smoo Cave in Scotland? I would love to see what you were drawn to there. I found the colors of the rocks in the stream stunning but none of my pictures captured the essence of them.
Watched the intro many times: so inspiring, dear Adam. Waves of the music are echoing in the sea… and a stunning long exposure photography is ending - or new start ? - the sequence drone footage-static vid. Many ideas to highlight forthcoming outings, nearby or abroad…🙏🏼
Long time subscriber, first time commentor. Like many of your videos, this one is really nice. The drone footage is beautiful. I also liked the background music. Music app are you using if you don't mind me asking?
Talk about a wealth of subjects, that's a pretty incredible location to visit.. especially if one likes rocks. All those detail shots you brought home are top notch.
Beautiful as always Adam! I love seeing the raw files and how you developed them. I particularly liked the photos of the caves, as I had a difficult time finding compositions I liked there, but you make it sound very easy 😄. And yes, this part of the world is well worth a visit, I’m sure even Alister still finds new things to photograph after having been there so many times!
Adam, thx for your inspiring videos. That said, I find it frustrating that while watching photography videos from most photographers, is that almost all do not mention season, month or time of day. This is critical for me when planning a special outing. Most of us watch past year's videos and cannot determine when these were actually filmed: Not sure if this is intentional or just convention. The time of year and time day determine light color and angle.. Upon watching this video, I can guess that it was early am in Spain in January or February? Most photographers shoot and edit, posting several month later.....so when did a shoot actually happen??? Thank you.
Most of my videos are filmed a week or two from the post date. This trip was throughout January. Something you have to realize is that videos often take quite a bit of time to shoot and then edit so very few except for live videos are a day or so after the trip. As far as time of day, in most cases I just go out without recognizing a certain time of day. In Spain some beaches are better at high tide, others at low so this is where you have to put the leg work I. To find these things out or go with people who know the area.
I also notice that you often use F16 and up. I was wondering about your thoughts about diffraction with the GFX lens. As always excellent work. Love your ability to share you creative thought process!
agree that the smoothed out waves looks great. just wondering if, is it ever a "thing" that 10 stops makes an image too "smooth"? that one would recommend lets say a 8 stop? (a reason to have multiple)- or usually if one likes to create long exposure to smooth out waves during the day time then 10 stops ND is a good single lens to get and any other ND might be slightly variable in the 1-5 range? hope the question makes sense.
I carry three different KASE ND filters, 3 stop, 6 stop and a 10 stop. Youre right some images might look too smooth, it really all boils down to personal preference and goals. I rarely make exposure in the minutes but on this trip I wanted to try a few out and kind of liked the effect so did a few as you have seen in the video. An exposure of say 10sec would have left more detail and to be honest probably not a huge difference for the viewer.
Great shots Adam! Can't help asking...is that you playing the flute in the beginning shots? And, have you ever seriously made any recordings? From the little bit I've heard here and there I think you should. Too much talent for one person..lol.
I am once again thinking of upgrading to a Canon R5 II because all of my lenses are Canon ita a 62mp camera. On the other hand I am curious how good the GFX100s is for landscapes and or wildlife? Any guidance or thoughts as far as the GFX Adam?
@@QuietLightPhoto Excellent reply. I was hopping you would be able to guide me in the right direction. Much appreciated Adam. BTW still looooving the geared head i bought off you. Cheers!
Is Thomas Heaton rubbing off on you with these minimalistic seascapes? Love them! The science geek in me would love to know the geologic events that led to those igneous rock blobs being strewn among those sedimentary formations. A massive volcanic event somewhere is my guess.
Hey Adam, I’m curious. Do you find any new challenges in working with such high file sizes? I am currently working with an X-T3, but I miss the resolution I get with medium, and large format film. So I have been looking at the 100S, and the 50s. I’m just not sure what I’ll be getting into with files, and storage of my images.
@@QuietLightPhoto This may be an elementary question, but I am still fairly new to digital photography. Can I get the same quality with a Fuji X-T3, as a GFX 50s?
I'm personally not a big fan of long exposures and the "milky effect" it gives with the waves. I prefer a more natural look, even if it means a less simplified scene. That being said, a lot of great photos in this episode.
❤When using a ND filter, it loks like you have a very bad sheep lens, or as it's ise on the water and there is a blizzard in the summer on ise. Me to bought sutch shitt and noone will buy fotos like that. However I think you are a superb fotographer, but buying the scharpest lenses you can buy an destroy the picture by usind such crap? But there are different opinions on everything. An that is good, that is what life is about, and makes it worth living. Thanks for shering.👍
Adam, one other point, KASE need to turn down their current marketing and sponsorship campaign as all of a sudden every photographer suddenly seems to need to use an ND filter for every shot and its getting old quickly !
You have some amazing work here. And I know, I am an old obsessive compulsive viewer who has never had counselling for the condition. But. I wish you would encase your images with a very thin white outline, because that says te me that the image is treasured and loved. When I see your beautiful images suddenly appear against a black background, I am traumatised. Because your work is amazing and I have a need to see it embraced and delineated.
the one at 5:23 ... and THANK YOU SQUARESPACE for sponsoring the post... just before 9:00 too.... 18:26
Simply beautiful, every image!
Thoroughly enjoyed every second of this.
Nice photos. Thanks for showing
Thanks for watching
Love the fact that you show the raw files and then the edited files.
lovely foto's
Image of the cave and the underwater pebbles is so good the colours especially Adam.
I am very glad to see you in the north of my country (Spain), you have been on the north coast that I love so much. very grateful for the videos that inspire me so much, thank you Adam.
Thanks! 😃
Great images…love some of the pano crops, they really work well. 👍⭐️
Many thanks
Beautiful video and a great location with so much to see. Loved the shots from the cave and the very last one was my favourite.
Many thanks
I like so much to see someone use my same size lens

Beautiful and tranquil. Inspirational
Nice to see you at the coast again Adam 👍🏻 some really striking compositions
17:25 ist the best of this Series. Bravo!
Outstanding images! Such a beautiful coastline. I really love that you share the RAW image as well.

Fantastic Adam! All shots are good, but the small arch with sun light is my favourite!
Outstanding photos
Beautiful images and what an fascinating coastline.
Many thanks!
Thank you Adam. 🇫🇷❤️🇫🇷
Agreed. The sand and ocean patters are excellent abstracts. Love the softness, dreamy appearance.
I shall have to visit up there with the wife at some point. We have sand beaches here on the eastern coast looking into the med, and not a single pebble or stone to be seen. ☹
Fitters for sure, Adam for these scenes
Ooooo I love me some craggy rocks. Maybe one day I'll get invited on one of these excursions with the cool kids...
Or do what I do and invite myself😉
@@QuietLightPhoto hahahaha works every time.
Not withstanding the other shots, I love the Seastacks Panorama 📷👍
That 120 sec shot 🤗

Adam and the GFX100S are a perfect match. Like Fonteyn and Nurejew
Adam, just spectacular photography. I will watch this over and over again when I need calming down! This area is very much like Montana Del Oro in California.
Unclelacious Grumious Maximus, beautiful photography as always, thanks for the inspiration!!!!
Beautiful
As always thank you for sharing the raw file and the edited piece
The image at 5:00 is gorgeous, this one needs to be on the wall and is easily my favorite in a while. It grows on you
That was awesome man, can’t wait for the next one ❤️❤️❤️

Northern Spanish coastline
Great tip about using the ND to smooth out the water so it isn't distracting. Going to have to try that one. I've learned a lot on this channel.
