- One of the most impressive looking lions in the Kruger National park South Africa currently.
This is one of the three S26 males, and definitely one of the best looking lions in Kruger currently. Him and his 2 two brothers were in a coalition with the Styx male before he passed away in 2020. Back then the Styx male was the most impressive lion in the coalition but the three S26 males have turned into an impressive unit with the male in the video being the stand out lion in the coalition with his beautiful mane and now up there amongst the best looking lions in the Kruger Park.
In this video he was in the company of a lioness who did not seem interested in mating with him. She snarled at him when he followed her eventually he landed up going for a drink of water at pan and masking his scent in some nearby dung. He retuned to the lioness in hope of mating but she again snarled at him showing no interest.

Definitely a beautiful beast ! His left back leg seemed like it was injured before. Least that's what it looked like to me . But other then that great looking male !

This male have an impressive mane and remind me of Scarface from Masai Mara, who died last year!!! He walks in a very speciel way but lucky for him, the Lionesses loves Male Lions with big dark fluffy manes! He´s magnificent and beautiful!!!

Thank you 😊 they had at least 6 older cubs around the S26/S102 and 3 younger cubs around the S26/S108/H5 junction. I haven’t seen them recently so hopefully they are still around. 🤞

Great condition great he's a good looking male but he's a tripod he's only got three good legs that's definitely not a good thing to have in the lion world
Yes this Lion is a pure beauty💗 he has a particular style with an incredible mane which in Kruger we are not used to seeing, in addition he has a look to make these Lionesses fall... I think there is one of his brothers who looks a bit like him...

That injury Could sometimes weigh One a lion...he'll become a hesitant to fight...But he is "Cut" better than a body builder.

He's gorgeous.
He is more looking like a north-eastern for example a Masai Mara or Serengeti lion, than a Kruger male lion with his such a LONG and thick mane. I have such a feeling, as he resembles a bit to the former legendary 4km male lions coalition (Blackie and Lipstick) offsprings ( for example to Maridadi or Nyekundo) from the Masai Mara, in my opinion. :)
.....or the Notch coalition of father and sons.

That would've been a sight. Another impressive male named Olope was also killed recently. He was my favorite lion after Othawa died.

It could be and I have seen one in Morocco zoo called the Barbary lion it's under the king collection it was amazing I couldn't believe animal like this went extinct

How old is this lion? He looks elder than 10 years and perhaps going out of his prime.
He’s beautiful. Gorgeous mane and color. He could use a few good meals on him tho. He looks like he hasn’t eaten in a while. But he’s gorgeous.

Great looking mane, but his hind legs - particularly the left - appears to have atrophy and a small limp. He also has a lot of loose skin. I imagine a young coalition could show up and cause him real trouble.
Agreed. His back legs look weak and will probably only get worse. I notice a lot of male lions have issues with their back legs.

The most impressive male lion in kruger has to be one of the mjejane males. Proven fighters, defenders and killers.
While they are impressive and great fighters they definitely don't compare to this guy in mane size and body type. But that's not to say they aren't impressive in there own right.

Yes, definitely one of the legs is stiff, you can see that as he walks. This might become a big problem as he ages.

Definitely injury. Most probably an injured hip from a fight. You don't get to be KING and expect not to have any battle scars on you.

Lions don't die from any tick infestation. They often prune themselves or each other. Just like your house cat.
