- The Sweni pride with an early morning road block in the Kruger National park South Africa
The Sweni pride over the years has been an extremely successful pride in the Kruger National park. Under the protection of the 3 pride males that took over last year they are thriving. The Sweni lion pride is roughly around 20 members strong all consisting of different ages. The Sweni pride can be found along parts of the S126, H1-3 and occasionally western parts of the H6. On this morning we found them along the H1-3 in the company of 2 of the 3 pride males while the third male was on the S126.

It looks like there are two adult males in this pride. The other one was in the very back. Better to have more than one adult male protecting the pride than just one in case a coalition of other male lions come into their territory to try and take over the pride.

Looks like many of his cubs survived and now the pride is huge! He did a good job protecting them from other males.

This is a coalition, there's no way a single male lion can be this prosperous...the jungle is real, it is not like the corporate world!

Lots of young sub-adults and male cubs there. If they end up forming a coalition, they will be the future kings of the area.
They look well fed and healthy. Lionesses clearly know what they are doing. Multiple male cubs of a similar age will form a coalition and take over a new pride together when old enough. The two head males are gorgeous.
They’ve been eating the tourists who leave their vehicles to take selfies with them.

Love to see more than one pre-adult males amongst the cubs. They’re in for a major adjustment within the next 6-12 months. Dad’s soon to send them on their way. Sort of an upside with a couple less mouths to feed. This is indeed a strong pride with cubs at various ages!
Specially if these youngins start disrespecting their father and go after the other female in the Pride.....Father Lion does not tolerate this

Such a treat...been to the Kruger National Park a few times and have only spotted lions once
They are so beautiful! Number one reason for them being depleted, is habitat loss! Thanks to us humans!.So they aren't blocking anything.
Beautiful sighting of a beautiful successful Pride. At first glimpse I thought it was Red Road Male with the Nharu Pride.
I love their interactions. They move like this is a Military Formation or a Fashion Shoot. The reality seems like a brief rest stop prior to hunting, and they're clearly annoyed with the presence of trucks, humans and clicking cameras.

THAT IS THE HUGEST PRIDE IVE SEEN WALKING ON KRUGER ROAD, AMAZING TO BE ABLE TO FIND THEM!!!! gorgeous intelligent fascinating also funny beasts!!!t the cubs r alll ages, the over 1!/2 yr old males, baby few month old cubs, two brothers and females!!! u guys were VERY VERY LUCKY TO FIND THEM!!!
That is the biggest healthiest looking lion pride I've seen in some time, hopefully they can keep up with the good luck going through to the dry season, Magnificent...Don't look like they are used to the vehicles as much as other Kruger prides...
Best looking pride in all of Africa in my opinion , Kudyela and Birmingham prides too.

Like cats they like lying on the warm road. You can see that it is a overcast and windy day. This way they can soak up the heat.
They are educating their cubs about humans. The other cub was like, "boring... im gonna go watch some zebra."
These were the most beautiful lions I've seen on RUclips. Their golden coats were flawless.

That is a potentially extremely powerful pride. There are many male cubs, two adolescent males and with two prime males in the pride already, this pride's future is well secured.

the females are the ones who are responsible for catching prey and feeding the family. they have much more pressure than the males.
The 4 juvenile male cubs may have another year before they are kicked out. But they may form an unbeatable coalition between them.

Yes this pride is absolutely huge and gorgeous and the third pride male is the darker mane alpha male, he’s normally the dominant male of the three & they all r brothers 7 yrs of age in their absolute prime, they took over last year kicking the old two males out of the area, the third brother who is not currently present in the video is the 2nd youngest and not only the more dominant and stronger alpha male but also very smart & a great leader of this mega pride & he also is the main reason that their territory perimeter is tightly guarded because at times all three brothers separate and patrol one by one, meaning only one of them each take an area to patrol so u have each of them patrolling by them selves and having them all scattered around allows them to be in three places at one time covering their territory very closely and with an iron paw, about three or four months ago the youngest brother was patrolling the south side of their territory and caught two males and a lone female in their area, in the video showed the youngest brother stirring at them I guess processing the situation to decide weather or not he should take them on or quietly move away and get reinforcements which is his brothers or if he wanted to bring back a few lioness because if I am not mistaken it is 8 adult lioness in the mega pride and 6 of them being at least 7yrs or older which make them prime fully adult lioness in the best condition of their life so far & the youngest brother had several options but instead he roared loudly not only contact calling his brothers & pride to make them aware of his position & the situation but also warning the intruders, before the footage ended he warned them a second time rite before he started running full throttle towards them and the two males I guess saw his size and by his aggression, size, dominance & the fact he started foaming from the mouth that the two males looking around the ages of 5yrs old and good size that they decided to run away so the pride male charged & caught the female with a 1:39 seconds left of the video he destroyed & killed the female and with 30 seconds left showing the older brother showing up and he attacked the lower part of the female and it look as if he was breaking both hind legs while his younger bro who attacked first had the female lion around the back of her neck biting constantly & yanking upwards on her neck breaking her neck while her spine and hind legs being shattered by the other brother, & lastly with five seconds left the third brother appeared ready for war but unfortunately the video was stopped, I shared this because for those who doesn’t know much about this mega pride should know that they are led by a coalition of three brothers and they lead it with an iron paw and their territory is very well protected & patrolled well with these guys patrolling alone being in three places at one time meaning they cover a lot of ground and are very confident in defending alone and they roar to one another just in case they are caught and outnumbered that one or more members would b close enough to help just like i was describing in the prior video wen the brother roared and while he was making a move to get rid of the intruders help was on the way and they new where to come because of the brother roaring his location and the situation to his comrades while sending the intruders a warning that they was ignoring, so thanks for letting me share this info, I hope this help others who doesn’t know much about this coalition, excuse me not sharing the coalition males name, I know there names individually but just can’t spell it, I have a hard time pronouncing and spelling these guys names,their names is very awkward to pronounce & spell, so that’s just my take on it

Description says this pride has three males; second here in rearguard, the third on another road. I’d guess they were brothers, to be joint ‘kings’?

Normally it’s one adult male in a pride, but in some cases there’s two. Most likely his brother, I like how one protects the front and the other guards the back when they’re walking.

@@ekbell684 E K Bell there’s usually more than two males in any given time in a Lion Pride.. you must be new to this game otherwise you’ll know this fact! I can count 7-9 coalitions with 5 to 6 males off the top of my head, but you can look it up - don’t take my word for it.. 😊
