An Icon. Never forget that man on the sidelines. I was a Redskins fan, yeah thats right I said it REDSKINS fan. That’s what they will always be know as. Anyway, back to Landry. He had one of the greatest teams in NFL history in the late 70’s. Roger Stauback, Tony Dorsett, Drew Person, Randy and Danny White and Ed 2 Tall Jones. Man, did I hate them Cowboys. But I always hold respect for them and there great coach Landry. What a Great man he was. R.I.P
HTTR! But like yourself, I recognized how this man revolutionized the NFL into the 21st century before he retired (got fired... Jerry Jones got his karma back in that 62-0 defeat to and his coaching career in Miami even with the mighty Dan Marino, despite the latter barely running on fumes by that point)
"Roger The Dodger," they used to call him, when scrambling quarterbacks were new and Fran Tarkenton was a new thing. Signing off, a Redskins fan (as much as Roger used to frustrate my team)
Coach Landry was one of my childhood heroes. I really hoped to be able to meet him while he was still here. Unfortunately, I never got the chance. However, my wife sang in the choir for his memorial service. What a great man.
In the Cowboy program it would say HEAD COACH:Tom Landry Defensive Coordinator: Tom Landry Offensive Coordinator: Tom Landry Special teams coordinator: Tom Landry. He did it all!!!!
REDSKINS ALL DAY! Hail to the enemy side of what used to be a great rivalry. Hopefully our new owner gets our stuff together. Jerry Jones gets knocked a bit but, hopefully for your own sake, you fix what could be a detriment to your own team from ownership too. THE NFL ALWAYS DOES GOOD WHEN THERE'S COWBOYS AND INDIANS FIGHTING EACH OTHER. (But ultimately we are happier as fans when were competitive that way in the NFL) PS--last not least. TOM LANDRY WAS A LEGEND. I can't believe I was only twenty-six years old when this happened and I was almost in between moving 2,300 miles away where I live this day. That legend was an INNOVATOR
Im not ashamed to admit it at all, I cried like a baby. I loved the man and his impact on my life resonates until this day.
RIP Tom Landry Great Coach A world War 2 Veteran 20 consecutive winning seasons.

Very nice BASHEM72. And you are right, they will ALWAYS be the REDSKINS, at least for a few more generations.
I’m a Cowboys fan and Washington will always be the Redskins to me. The greatest rivalry in all of the NFL.
