The best part of the initiatory is when you receive it for yourself. Listen to the words of the blessings. They are addressed to you. You only do this once. Other times are by proxy for deceased relatives.
In an attempt to justify some of the material on this channel, at least one of the videos it provides quotes Bres Bednar as saying “that “We may discuss the basic purposes of, and /the doctrine and principles associated with, the Temple ordinances and covenants.” Which, of course, is perfectly correct and understandable. However it is interesting - and important - to note that Pres Bednar has not said (or has ever said) that it is appropriate for us to discuss THE DETAILS of any of the Temple procedures outside of the Temple. As far as I am aware, that instruction continues to be given to new Patrons at the temple today.
He isn’t president Bednar . He is not in the presidency . One day he maybe could be . He is an apostle of Jesus Christ . Nothing she is saying has not bed. Taught openly .
Why are there 4 booths? What do they represent? Who are the people that move from one realm to another to wash, anoint, and cloth you? Who do they represent? What is the difference between the words for the women and the words for the men in this ordinance? (they are not the same) - I think there is more here that was not covered.
@@l7846 If you listen closely to the words in the initiatory, and in the introduction to the endowment, you will hear that the men are "washed and pronounced clean, or that through your faithfulness you MAY become clean from the blood and sins of this generation." For the women you will hear that they are "washed and pronounced clean." The men are responsible for the blood and sins of this generation, and they MAY become clean, while the sisters are pronounced clean - that relates to the veil the sisters wear to cover their glory (but not used any more). You will hear this both in the initiatory and in the introduction to the endowment. I get my information from the whisperings of the spirit as I am there in the temple, and seeking for further light and knowledge. I always ask myself, where are we and what are we doing? Why are we doing it here? Why are we doing it in this way? Who are these people that are administering these ordinances, and why are they here? There is a lot to learn, and I learn something new every time I go; I heard Pres. Kimball say that once and I thought he was crazy, but now I understand. The new endowment tries to more clearly talk about some of these things, but there is still much to learn.
If you think about it, everything she shared is in the book of Leviticus and Doctrine & Covenants. I also refer back to what Elder Bednar said. “…many Church members are unsure about what appropriately can and cannot be said regarding the temple experience outside of the temple. President Ezra Taft Benson described why this uncertainty exists: “The temple is a sacred place, and the ordinances in the temple are of a sacred character. Because of its sacredness we are sometimes reluctant to say anything about the temple to our children and grandchildren. “As a consequence, many do not develop a real desire to go to the temple, or when they go there, they do so without much background to prepare them for the obligations and covenants they enter into. “I believe a proper understanding or background will immeasurably help prepare our youth for the temple … [and] will foster within them a desire to seek their priesthood blessings just as Abraham sought his.” Two basic guidelines can help us achieve the proper understanding emphasized by President Benson. Guideline #1. Because we love the Lord, we always should speak about His holy house with reverence. We should not disclose or describe the special symbols associated with the covenants we receive in sacred temple ceremonies. Neither should we discuss the holy information that we specifically promise in the temple not to reveal. Guideline #2. The temple is the house of the Lord. Everything in the temple points us to our Savior, Jesus Christ. We may discuss the basic purposes of and the doctrine and principles associated with temple ordinances and covenants.” - Elder Bednar “Prepare to Obtain Every Needful thing.” You can also Google LDS about temple ordinances and the church has a whole website dedicated to explaining the covenants and ordinates we make in the temple.
The Church has actually released a lot about the temple online, and most of it is free to talk about. Many of it is also published by Deseret Book. There are very few things we covenant not to disclose, and this is not one of them. In the Church, members have historically erred on the side of caution, but usually there is a lot more that can be discussed, and many of that is helpful for people before they go into the temple for the first time. It might feel wrong at first because people generally say very little, but this is an acceptable discussion and teaching :)
Mae, I dont understand what you're even saying here? There is NO SUCH in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Please come back and explain...❤
Please you need to speak slower surely in respect to the God Yahweh you are refering to! Every time I've visited a latter day chapel the man(a priest) reading the prayer of blessing the bread, reads it the same speed you speak( as if there is no tomorrow) .The same for the water blessing. I notice most of your informative video's don't seem to get many hits which is a pity for I can see you work hard at them. It is a good thing that people can view them before participating in latter day temple ordinances.
It's very helpful for people to understand a little bit about the temple before they go. It helps them have a better experience and understand what the symbols mean. And for those of us who have been more than once, it's also helpful for us to learn the biblical context and everything for it (since most of us are unfamiliar with old testament rituals). For me, just knowing beforehand that a woman officiated the initiatory would have eased me a lot. Because of the tendency of members of the Church to be hush hush about the temple, it's common for people to feel like most things should not be shared, but the Church has taught (and it's explicitly outlined in the endowment ceremony) that there is little that we covenant not to share. The Church has more detailed information on their websites about the temple ceremonies than most would expect, as well as many books published by Deseret Book about the temple. Understanding the symbolism, biblical roots, etc. help anyone, endowed or not, and having an idea of the ordinances before you go also helps those who are preparing.
Activities inside temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints are sacred and the information about what happens should not be revealed to the world on RUclips If people have questions then read a book or take a preparation class.
That they may know.... the world is curious... There is nothing in this or any of her videos that is "too much", much less inappropriate! Oh.. What books,, written by whom would YOU recommend?
ANother fantastic video! Thank you!
Thanks A LOT for the work you do!!!
You are the best temple prep teacher ever. You are inspiring me to learn more!

Yeah good thing you don't have to dress in a see through poncho anymore with old men touching you in your loins...
Well done
Well done. Keep up the good work.
Interesting it’s the same ritual that you go through to become a witch but they label it the new witch initiation
I like that picture . This is all in the Bible . Joseph Smith was able to see back in time the dedication of the temples then.
Great video sister . For those who have problems with what is done and how , why concern yourself with it . Who are you trying to convince ?

What are your sources for these things? The wordings are identical-- well except for "Brother"/"Sister"😅

Usually I agree with your videos and their content, but this feels a little too close to the edge for me.

The most important to know is your taking an oath to never ever leave the mormon church or else.
Mae, I dont understand what you're even saying here? There is NO SUCH in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Please come back and explain...❤
No such oath. There used to be an oath NOT to disclose sacred symbols or else.. Now there's no such oath either.

Dont worry you wont be naked this time. 😂
Why are you telling people this ?

These are sacred ordinances of the temple. I wish people would stop with these videos.
