The school authorities could actually be unaware of this. It could be the distributor manipulating, or simply publishers who have put their new updated price tag on some old stock. Thorough investigation is needed

There are many other schools involving the same crime . I personally saw this school in chumukedima (seeds of hope) last year as some cousins studies there and doubting if this year too ,the school have cheated the students' parents. Will check and report to the concern authority
I am sure there will be Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the school and the publisher, since the purchase is in bulk.... So, it kinda seems suspicious for the school to say, "they are not aware about it....?! " What do you think, dear layman's?
Even if the seller did this or one of his administrators did this.. he has to take moral responsibility of the situation that being an administrator he was not aware that the seller/someone from his school manipulated the price and was selling it in higher price.. the principal should have that much knowledge of what is going on in his school and connect with his staffs that some teachers or his administrators should have bring that to his notice and they should have taken action on the dealer or teacher and not let the books be sold at more than the mrp which is universally known that nothing can be sold above the printed mrp price. He is very much equally responsible for this mistake in his school.. if not capable to administer he should not have taken the position.. now because of his incapability the entire school including the church is in bad limelight

The manipulation happens from the publishers, not the school. Besides, the publications can justify saying that the cost has risen due to various market factors.
Those agents are the one who cheated the students and parents . The schools Administration has to subscribe the publications centres in their Name of their School...With the helps of people who have librarians background

Interview the bookstores or distributors not the school. Im sure schools simple get the books and distribute to the students.
