Screen legend Sophia Loren is portrayed in this Dateline NBC episode with Stone Philips from 1999. In this intimate segment, Sophia cooks in her home and reveals many moments of her life growing up, including her career leading-men and her recent hospital scare.
'At Sophia Loren's home in Geneva, Switzerland, we cooked and she reflected on her life and loves and one of the many suitors she turned down, Cary Grant.' -Stone Philips
Sofia Villani Scicolone (b.1934) known professionally as Sophia Loren is an Italian actress. She is one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
Encouraged to enroll in acting lessons after entering a beauty pageant, Loren began her film career at age 16 in 1950. Notable film appearances around this time include The Pride and the Passion, Houseboat, and It Started in Naples. Loren's performance as Cesira in the movie Two Women (1961) directed by Vittorio De Sica earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress, making her the first actor or actress to win an Oscar for a foreign-language performance. She holds the record for having earned six David di Donatello Awards for Best Actress: Two Women; Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (1963); Marriage Italian Style (1964) (for which she was nominated for a second Oscar); Sunflower (1970); The Voyage (1974); and A Special Day (1977). After starting a family in the early 1970s, Loren chose to make rarer film appearances. Most recently, she has appeared in American films such as Grumpier Old Men (1995) and Nine (2009).

The fact that her beauty has always been accompanied by a lovely and intriguing character makes her all the more enchanting. My inspiration.💋
GIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE LORD JESIS CHRIST AND BE INTRIGUED WITH DOING THAT
Her beauty is more than skin deep it comes from within. She has class, depth and simpatico. One of the greatest actresses of all time.
She was 65 years old here! Incredible
Loren has always been a beautiful woman, but in my opinion, as she got older her beauty really blossomed. In this video, she's 64 year's old and she looks gorgeous! She looks more beautiful here than she did when she was in her 20's.
I understand what she means about her instincts telling her when someone is lying. She's a Virgo, like myself. We're considered as human lie detectors. Sometimes my instincts scare me as well, but thank god I listen to it.
I'm a Virgo as well... I can also always tell when someone is lying and I'm never wrong.
@@harpervalleypeeteeay9708 Yup! Some think we're being insensitive when we don't believe in someone else's lies, while others believe it. Eventually, the truth comes out, and like we said, "We're never wrong."
A beautiful commend... I had to smile while reading it.
Thank you 😊
Another Virgo here, I concur in every way. A lie is always detectable to my instincts.
I think that she's beautiful in all phases of her life, in her 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s etc....
*Sophia Lauren is classy, beautiful, intelligent and very feminine. Her kindness, wrapped up with all the rest, is what makes her eternally beautiful.*
oh my gosh, she is sooo soo stunning...wow.
Best looking woman in the whole world!
Tak!
She was mesmerizing
She still is.
Just love her. Nothing more to say

Agreed!
With the exception of MM??? Sophia is far more beautiful, a woman of morals, character & grace which Marilyn Monroe had none of!!
of course shes italian raised proper not like western woman
Of course she can cook she’s Italian
Westerners think once you become rich you don’t need to concern yourself with traditionalism, it’s a materialistic mindset. Cultured folks know it’s the simple traditions that keep you rooted and grounded.
Growing up, half Italian, dark skin, hair, eyes- Sophia Loren has always been my crush, because I finally had someone to relate to! ! Girl Crush Sophia--right here! love you!
Green eyes, though
D u know the majority of ITALIAN people are blonde and white?
Dark skin?
Maybe some people is meditteranean
@@giorgioroyaume8815 no most italians are not blonde and white stop deluding yourself lol

Go Sophia go! Such a beautiful woman. A mother a wife and a woman. The complete Trinity.
I notives she always has had a very special tone of skin, like a white coffee.very delicious. Not only on face but everywhere. Together with her dark brown reddish mahagoni hair she was a true jewelry.
she has copper colouring, like a light olive with a red undertone. Absolutely stunning
@@user-li1gp2jw8kI don’t think Sophia is a natural red head.
And she still goes on and on..love this woman so much!
What a stunning woman. One of the all time beauties.
Most beautiful women in the world
"Bellissimo!" The highest expression of beauty.
Absolutely the most beautiful woman ever...
They say a good wine matures with age, how can we say she gets older with age, no the older she gets the more gorgeous and divine she looks 🤠💋
shes an inspiration
Bravo yeah life is yours, Enjoy and live long life 🙏💚💙
Italian fine wine & Sophie Loren, synonymous. She is one of the disappearing legends.
Wow.... She was 64 years old here. She looked like she's in her 40s.
I don’t think she looks like
She’s in her 40s at all. I just think she looks like a really great 64. I hate it when people
Say famous people look 20 years younger because no one ever does. They usually just look good for their age. And that should be good enough. You can tell
when people are older even if they look as wonderful as Sophia.
Il top della sua bellezza in quegl' anni!
I am only 12 years old
Прекрасная Анна Маньяни!
This is the first and only interview where she acknowledges that Cary Grant proposed to her, and their attraction was mutual. In other interviews, she says he didn’t propose and that it was he who was in love with her. Additionally, in a published interview several years ago, she claimed that she once had a close friend who she trusted and confided in; however, the friend allegedly informed the press that Loren had once had an affair with her plastic surgeon. I love Sophia, and greatly admire her, but the discrepancies in her interviews makes her forthrightness dubious. In another interview, I believe with Larry King, she denied ever kissing Marcello on the lips in any movies; that she always placed her hand alongside her mouth so that didn’t happen. The movies, however, show and tell an entirely different story. They were two exceptionally fabulous actors, and hands and arms were everywhere except blocking the kisses that actors of such caliber don’t fake.
Of gee, get a life, Ms gossiper
You have to remember that she’s trying to recall information and events from 30+ years ago in these interviews. She’s an older woman now, and given the amount of interviews she’s had to give over the course of her life and career, I think a few discrepancies in her stories is perfectly normal and acceptable. Let’s see how well you remember your 20s when you’re 60/70/80 years old, and how often your stories are told the exact same.
DESDE cHILE, YO TE AMO SOPHIA
One helluva woman❤❤❤SALUTE
Beautiful
110% classy, what would you expect.....shes italian!!
Hey ! What ever happened to,
Stone Phillips ? Info. Please.
Absolutely love love love her ❤️
She was very wise in choosing a man.
rich,older and film producer
@@fenecofeneco19 I agree, without him, she'd be cooking in some village in Italy , married to some unknown Italian guy. I've always liked Sophia, but she is a narcissist, saying this in the kindest way, loving the attention from all men. I don't think she'd ever admit she had affairs, she has an image to protect .
@@madambutterfly7513 whilst all that is true, she still had integrity and perhaps moreso, to protect her image after coming from poverty and illegitmitacy, which is always a stigma for the most part. Back then women needed to marry well to survive and a lot of women would and continue to do the same. He saved her.
I love her since I was young, she is right when she says food is memory because me too when I cook I remember my grandma , I know her story for her nose because I had this problem either, I am from Albania and when I came in USA somebody from the store ask me - You are Italian because you look like the actress Sofia , I said No I am from Albania but you know I felt so Happy. She is beautiful and a good person, 🙏💚💙🧡🤗
Amazing woman and actress ❤ pure charm and class ❤
She has 6r years and look amazing
i love this lady

Such a lovely woman. They don't make them like that anymore.
Her cooking dinner made me hungry 😕.
lovely and adorable actress!
One classic Italian dish prepares another
If only the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was written in the 90's...She would have been a force in that role
She is more of a beautiful person, than a beautiful lady.
La amo es una mujer muy hermosa ❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful smile
unbelievable
i love her, shes the only bombshell to not be tortured into a premature death or ruining her face with plastic surgery, she aged without stress which I think is just a testament to Italian culture's respect for femininity. However, this interviewer is so icky, give her some legitimate question and stop speaking down to her >:(
My grandmother used to always còk she loved taking care of her family she lived to be 99❤❤ Love Sophia ❤🎉
The interviewer must have fallen for her :D
A superwoman
What a gorgeous classy woman!!!
She said she likes to seduce, mission accomplished😍

Great lady .... and she looks great here ... but starting off any pasta all'amatriciana with olive oil is a culinary sin against the original recipe ---n the fat is rendered from guanciale only.
when you look as good as she does it’s ok to do as you please.

Si vantano di essere Italiani poi però pur di non pagare le tasse vanno a vivere all'estero. Una banca svizzera meglio averla sotto casa così ho il pieno controllo del mio denaro.
