Dear people, just in case you want to know; the sound source of this video is from the Empath album, no secrets. Lot’s of my drum parts on the Empath album was recorded in my studio though, as shown in this video, same drums and cymbals, same mics, "Sprite" too, while some other parts were recorded in Monnow Valley Studio in Wales. SOME of the sounds in this video were added from this video recording though that is NOT on the album. And, it is not me singing on this video (the audio I mean) that would be fake news, it is Devin ;)
What/when was the first time you realised you had gained true independence with/over your limbs, in terms of rudimentary abilities? I mean if there was one exercise which paved the way for "discovering" your motor autonomy, for want of a better word, what was it? (Edit) from is to 'it' .

This song is an absolute phenomenal piece of music. Incredibly melodic. For 6.37 minutes I felt wrapped in pure harmony...and it is getting better with each listen.
Empath to me is like an album zappa would have written had he ever listened to Strapping Young Lad and Death. And it is the Coolest F’ing thing ever. Thank you Morgan and everyone else who made this beautiful music a reality.
It's been so much fun watching all three drummers videos and all your different styles come together for a single project. I get the feeling that your parts would be the most difficult to replicate for their "off-the-cuff" nature!
Devin and Morgan... 2 genius and genuine musicians. Loved it. I knew that empath would be a great album when I discover that Morgan is playing on it. This is just Amazing. I consider Morgan one of the "best" modern drummers in the world and he is a strong influence for me as a musician and drummer. Thanks Morgan!

Out of all the songs I um... *cough* I actually like all the dumming equality so... Man Idk why he got different drummers, maybe because they had different kits which he wanted, but I really like how that album is basically a shoutout to different good drummers.
Can anyone tell me what mics are on the toms? I dont think Ive ever seen them. They almost look like triggers but they cant be since they arent on the drum head itself

This is the sound from the video, you can tell by the overhead mics, they're mixed a little bit louder than normal.
