    Fredrik has such an iconic tone. I can tell it’s him within seconds. Just like SRV, Hendrix, Van Halen etc.. truly underrated

      I was very lucky indeed! (about 4 am on that Melloboat festival filled with cult features and some other great bands like Opeth and Katatonia. Steven Wilson attended as well, not performing, just to experience it all. The most cult happening was the reunion of Åkerfeldt's heroes Comus)

But then again I want to remember the whole Mats & Morgan Allstar band was about a 4 hour show, they started around midnight and played til 4AM. Probably the best show I ever attended though, so yeah I knew how lucky I was :P

    Thanks for sharing this piece of art. My only wish is: I'd loved to be there because 3 off my favourite Swedish musicians shared the same stage! Almost 22 years have passed since the 1st time I've heard Special Defects, mediately become a dream to watch it live!!! Memorable at lest!!!
    Oh, and since I live in the safest place/land on Earth >> Portugal

    IIRC the good recorder Morgan had didn't record the show for whatever reason, so the two vids from cameras that digitally clipped are all we have of this show. It's been like 14 years, but that's what I was told by Morgan, IIRC...

      The accordion player finishes the song with a 10 minute solo. His name is Lars Hollmer from the Swedish progrock band called Samla Mammas Manna.

      the main pedal is Digitech ricochet and then he uses an expression pedal to adjust the timing on it giving it that tremoly sound

    what pedal is fredrik playing? its hard to tell if its a volume pedal or like...a rocking footswitch that acts like a vibrato bar? I'm really confused by what I'm seeing him do with it and the sounds he's making with it

      If I remember correctly he moves the delay time making it glitch and change pitch. Like a delay pedal would do if one fiddles with the time knob while delay is on and trails are heard. Sounds weird but cool tho!

    I love this Fredrik's custom Ibanez. So minimalistic and solid, pure monolith. Very interesting which scale length on this one, maybe 26.5? And what kind of bridge he used, i know that is Ibanez edge tremolo, but fixed this or not. I really want someday custom replica of this model but with reverse headstock.

      Any expression pedal will work because the effect is being done in the line 6 unit behind him I think.
      It's just a delay effect where it jumps between a short delay time (set at the heel of the expression) and a slightly higher time at the toe. You really just need to feel out the settings to get the right warble.

      It controls the delay parameters. I've been trying to nail this for years. Only 1 guy has and he has a video of it on Instagram. He achieved it perfectly.
