    Well explained spinning rig set up. When I get back to Spain I shall be trying it out. I have a question though, have you ever used imitation worm and was it successful?

    • @carperblue
      @carperblue  Год назад +1

      Hi, I get asked this quite a lot , yes I have. As long as you can rig it and get it straight, trailing, fishing flush with the bend of last hook it can be quite effective. I used the larger sizes isome and also I have tried the smaller red one. The larger natural colour worked quite well. I have also caught with just a red maggot on a single small hook

    why not use memory free Amnesia as a final hooklength , doesnt matter thats its not fleuro as the rag will hide most of the line..thats what i use..

    • @carperblue
      @carperblue  Год назад

      I have tried it, I prefer the stuff with memory it is stiffer , just steam it straight, more recently I am experimenting with the fused Gemini fluro stiff links. Anything that reduces the chance of tangling is the trick. These work very well I have caught hundreds of mullets on them

    Hi Mate, have you experimented with Isome instead of rag?

    • @carperblue
      @carperblue  Год назад +1

      Yes I have used isome, and caught. On several occasions. I am not sure it’s quite as effective. I have also caught on a small hook and two red maggots. Was going to be on a video soon. However few other projects on the go and little time

      My hunch would be your competition is going to be about the bass. 😉. I think mullet all going to be 46-53cm. Perch difficult but possible 30cm is a big one. Most I guess won’t find a perch. Although I rarely tried I have caught them in the upper stretches . There’s usually small ones round the bridge structure and under the boats on led

      @Carperblue Fishing Thanks Garry, 3 mullet will be extremely helpful in the comp. I have not had an opportunity to target them at all. It is very much an unknown for me.
      You are right, though, the bass are going to be critical.

    When using rag what size do you use? I can dig them out the bank bit it's messy work. What about the bigger rag from tackle shop ?

      Also ! Can you troll the spinner

    • @carperblue
      @carperblue  3 года назад

      Hi Jake, thanks for your questions and for watching. I think I show the prepared, baited rig on my mullet madness video, if you watched it? It may give you a comparison for size and length, I only ever buy my worms, they can be quite big but I don’t use a whole one. Probably 6 or 7cm being my preference. I like the head end as it’s more durable, however the fish can’t notice it’s just the tail end does not last long. Often they pull it apart or the baby bass do. You can catch them whilst trolling, I have often caught them on a wind based drift. However trolling is often banned in harbour estuaries so please check. You can often find them a long way up river 3 miles is not uncommon where I live.
