i totally relate with you, being on social media made me realize how polarized our society was in every aspect which made it hard for any of us interact normally in life
i 100% agree with you we have set so many rules instead of uniting us it has created borders mind border that has changed us a human and created of us machines to follow and agree on one thing while foretting the true one fact which is the one human value
I think it's very important not to choose sides. As we go through life, we go through shifting identities. It's important to be centred and to be in the centre. We need to meet in the middle if we want to work past polarisation. ☯
when people join the internet, they are forced to pick a side they want to consume(thats how the internet works, itll give you what you want) the communities are usually the pills(blule, red, black), political ideologies, spirituality, so if you dont consume media from the internet then its fine but like the masses being bored, they come to the social media platforms, and the things which are catered by the algorithm becomes the part of their personality, and when other people with differing opinion are in the vicinity of these individuals both on the social media platforms or irl, as theyve added the internet stuff into their personalities get hurt, this prolonged over a long time (20 years) has given birth to the current playground where people are heavily radicalized and extremists
People get influenced to quickly too. Everybody stands on a radical point to prove their „knowledge“ while their opinion/knowledge is backed with nothing else than a few headlines and what their barber told them.
Nahi yaar Barber thoda jyada hogaya now we have Social media platforms and influencers on it for every radical side each claiming their dominance that's where major brainwashing happens
I'm extremely saddened by what's happening too. Eastern philosophy is based on balance be it purush-prakriti, yin-yang, physical-metaphysical. Even though these principles of balance are ingrained within the culture, I have rarely seen it practiced in real life. I don't know much about western philosophy, so I can't comment on it much. But from what I've seen in internet, it seems much worse. Have we learnt nothing from history? Compared to the past (I mean recent centuries), we are better off. However, I don't think it's enough regarding the pace of globalization and interdependence. We can't live together, have polar opposite viewpoints and resist to compromise.
Balance isn't possible when the two "extremes" have fundamentally different definitions of good and evil. It really comes down to natural law. People in the middle of the spectrum tend not to be knowledgable on the roots of their own beliefs and like to take the position of the eternal contrarian because it makes them feel better not being an "extremist".
That’s not what I meant by balance. I agree that one has to have their own beliefs and opinions and it doesn’t necessarily have to be similar to others. But the definition of radical is something extreme. Ofc conservatives and liberals are going to have different ideas and thats ok. But it’s when media takes those ideas to the extreme is what im kind of talking about in the video. For example getting violent because someone doesn’t believe in your idea in my opinion is extreme.
4:50 you did say that. I'm primarily talking about your analysis from 4:13 - 5:39. You critique the lack of compromise between radicals/extremists. But how do you compromise when you in your heart know your beliefs are "good" and any sort of compromise would be a bastarized or watered-down version of good. It's impossible without sacrificing your own integrity. which I guess might be the only solution to non-violence
@@GujjuAnon-bp8tc well if you put it that way its true. I hadn’t thought about that. But I do believe that even if one has this true belief that something is good and something is bad, they shouldn’t act violently to express themselves. There are certain ideas that when force fully implemented is when it becomes extreme. I believe in freedom of expression, but there are limits. But thats true its hard to compromise without some sort of sacrifice. But I think a little bit of sacrifice is always necessary from both sides. I was brought up in a traditional household, and I was taught that sacrifice is necessary for compromise but it has to be from both parts to coexist. If the end result is a somewhat harmonious society why not learn to compromise. Its better than war at least thats what I think. Idk let me know what you think.
With Israel v Palestine, I fully agree with you. The division is not between any of the two groups. It's between those on both sides who are okay with creating more suffering at ANY expense for whatever ideology. Murder is never right, regardless which side. With all this power they have using money, media, and guns - I'm sure they must've forgotten.
1:32 social media also acts as a bridge between communities yet people become radicalised, its because it's not the social media but the influencers, the problem with online networks is that they are Centralised, a number of people whom we call influencers at the centre of network is connected to many people, thus their bias becomes the bias of whole network making people more radicalised..... Let me know what do you think?
You speak from the bottom of my hearts 🥰 this has to be talked about. You are absolutely right on the polarized streams. Let me know whether you wanna do a video together.
yeah, i agree that people are getting more radical through social media but i don't think the right way to form an opinion is by like not being radical or finding balance, i think its irrelevent to think about being radical or not, i think a situation should be judged by reason and not from trying to get a sense of belonging. But often times we don't get have all the information, i mean we could try to find a more from the other side or whatever but nobody's got that much time so we should atleast be humble enough to know that we don't know all of it but it seems that nowadays we are forced to have an opinion on everything radicalism in on of itself is not bad its just that people don't know the reasons for their beliefs, thats the problem. so yeah those are my thoughts on the matter, great vid btw😊
I have done research about it. And I have had personal experiences with some of the people who consider themselves part of that community who have not been so nice. But it is my personal experience and maybe your experience is different. I understand some of their more reasonable opinions and with other more radical opinions I disagree with.
@@swethav231 You didn't say that in the video though, you didn't talk about the reasonable opinions and that's a misrepresentation . You have to be fair in all that you do or else you are part of the problem you're speaking of !
@@gideok2024 the video is not about that tho. Im talking mainly about the radicalization. I used the red pill community as a example. it feels like my thoughts are being said aloud in words! you are so underrated. loved your video.
