    At around 11:05, you had mentioned cycles per second for DC values which is 0. Could you please elaborate on what is cycles?

    Sir, if dc value considered, it has constant value for all the time, that means value does not repeat itself over time, that means it is aperiodic.

    Since DC is constant for all values of time we can take fundamental time at any interval as pie, 2pie etc since it same for all intervals of time. We can consider it is repeating same at every interval.

      As the definition says it's the smallest positive value, since DC is the same for all values, whenever we choose our fundamental period we can get a smaller one and so on, As there is no smallest positive value of T. if you take any choice you find
      another smaller one e.g. 0.1, 0.01, 0.001, 0.0001...etc, so the period is undefined

    if periodic function is f, then can we declare f' (differential of f) should also be same for nT0, like in sin function (example taken), since in completing a period, it has same slope, please correct me if I am wrong (with reason)

    11:00 but DC is not a signal, because it is not dependant on any variable, then how can it be periodic signal?

    Hi Neso,
    Thanks for your tutorials but I am facing one problem.
    I am able to grasp the concept that you are teaching but when it comes to application of those concepts on questions I am fumbling. Please guide what should be done in order to be able to solve the questions. I am preparing for gate. Any book you would like to suggest from which I can do questions on SAS ?
    Also will there be more lectures coming in this series or I should look for other options to complete the remaining topics like DTFT, FFT, Digital filters etc ?

      Try some more solved examples, so that you will get your doubts clarified and try to make a brief notes wherever you feel difficulty so that you can revise those notes easily

    Dc value is periodic in nature...but the period is undefined...dc is a constant value ...and for any T or N it will be periodic

    Why fundamental time period of dc value is undefined ??
    When T0=smallest integer
    Which is 1 here
    Then T0 must be 1 for dc signal

      Smallest value may not be 1. It can be .01 or .001 or .000001 etc. Thus undefined.

      Sometimes he says that dc is a value not a signal, sometimes he says that dc is a signal. In this video he says that dc is periodic(which is a property of signals, which means that dc is a signal!!). I think he likes to mess up with the viewers. I asked him to clarify the mystery in 4 different videos about dc. He does not respond. He simply enjoys the confusion he creates.

      i went through oppenheim's book and signal and systems from schaum outlines series ( where this video series seems to heavily rely on). Even in these 2 books there is not a clear answer. The books say it is a periodic dc signal but..... I also checked quora answers on this question and it seems to be an never ending debate... Until i find a solid final proof i suppose treat dc value as a signal or not as a signal,periodic or not periodic depending on per case. Although, the confusion remains.

      Neso Academy, 'DC is a signal but it does not satisfy the purpose of a signal.'. Good. The purpose of the signal is to convey a desired information from Tx to Rx, i suppose. Does your reply here also mean that it is wrong your claim in digital electronics video series(video 2- what is signal, at 6::23).? Over there you clearly say that DC(Direct Current) is not a signal :). i am not aiming to degrade your work, but to clear the confusion. You make great videos.

    Even though we increment the time by 5sec it is remaining same i.e it is not depending on the time
    As u taught in before lecture if it is not depending on time it is not a signal, but here how could it will be a signal
