It'll happen, im not down there till after the new year. I'm sure I'll get multiple done. I typically just film where I am and what I'm doing. I run a pretty diverse program, but I have my seasons for each. I think I've identified the seasons that are best for each program and focus on them accordingly
Gotta love the winter Muck sharks. I had one with Greenburg years back: the largest trout I’ve seen in my life essentially “porpoised” near the streamer(winter.) Reminded me of a head-tail dry fly rise. We surmised he probably would’ve taken a surface fly just as well! 🐭 🐸
Not sure if you’ve covered this, but it would be great to see what your go to streamers are with different rod and line setups. Would have been good to see what else you planned to use with the 9’ 1x leader. I don’t have a boat yet… so I always have to decide 6wt v. 8wt, floating v. sink tip, tapered long fluorocarbon v. shorter tapered chameleon leader etc. when I’m wading. I’ve packed an extra rod and reels before so I have everything on me but forget that nonsense now. Gotta go light when wading.
One more thing. I've moved to an 8wt. As my number one go to recently. By listening to your set ups and moving from the struggling 6wt with the 4 to 6 inch streamers. My life has changed. I think somewhere in my head I ruled out moving up. But wow life is good. My wrists say thank you. I don't have shoulder issues but my wrists definitely work less with the bigger rod. Go figure. Thanks again.
Im laughing to myself, thinking I must be related to you. I carry on in my head the same type of possessed attitude that you walk around with. Except you're saying it all out loud, and your knowledge base is far greater. But that "eff it I'm gonna freeze" but I'm going to go run the program anyway game is off the charts. Love it. Keep killing it man. 🤘🏻😬🤘🏻
No production is fine, wading doesn’t suck and you don’t either 😅. I like watching professionals get skunked, that’s part of the game and it isn’t just me.
@@alexlafkasfishing for real, just film it. I didn’t get to the end and wonder why you didn’t land any fish. The seeing a fish when you didn’t expect to within a minute and not landing anything was perfect! I had a day last year, bluebird and full sun in July. Got in around noon at Smith bridge, first cast just upstream of Smith bridge and had a 18” brown follow to my feet. I twitched it a couple times about a rods length away and it ate and I landed it. Didn’t see another fish the entire wade to Truettner.
Any tips for dealing with iced up guides? Would love to see a collab with you and Josh. Your right he’s a busy guy, any time I had a chance to pick his brain I took full advantage.
The only thing that kind of works us Vaseline, but it doesn't work well. I tend to lean towards don't go until it gets close to 32. Mid 20s, it's a bitch. 30 to 32 is manageable
You gotta do a white river video Alex . That would be about full circle for me since first seeing you on Brian's channel for the chronicles lol

Super helpful. Added quite a bit more notes to my “Alex Lafkas” notebook. Thanks as always
Good to hear

I love it. Amazing how they behave when they aren't getting violated

Yeah, that would be a good one. I can probably get something put together

That should help. 3 and 4 in stuff is manageable on a 6wt but once you get 6in and up and 8wt is the deal

Oh yeah, just had to remember I had a mic on a to say what I was thinking out loud

Ha, it is part of the deal. I'm gonna make a point to have a good wade fishing day this winter before I leave and film it

@SpencerDT6 we use to consider getting a fish on your first cast the kiss of death...maybe it still is
